Recommended Posts

Hi,

My PCut630 used to work fine, I stopped using it and then went to use it the other day and it no longer works.

9600 baud rate

none

Windows7

I can see the device on com 1, and its connected threw usb, it states working fine but when I send  a job threw I get the

error: Can not open output device. error initializing cutter.

I also have a new Desktop with Windows 8 and Corel DrawX6 if this would be a better route for me?

Any help would be appreciated thank you

A Keyspan adapter would be a better route!

Are you connected USB direct to the plotter or through some kind of USB-Serial adapter?

If direct USB, you may have to have the plotter on and on-line before you boot the computer for it to be recognized correctly. I'm not sure. I run a true serial cable to mine.

Windows does not play fair with USB com ports and they will change number after re-boots. Make sure you see the plotter-com port device in devices and make sure SB is set up for the same port.

But if you're running USB direct, get a Keyspan!
