smendlik 113 Posted November 24, 2013 I spent the day building a vinyl rack to get my vinyl off the floor. I bought a few 2" x 6"s and dowel rods and threw this together today. All in all cost me $50 and will hold 26 rolls of vinyl. It's not perfect, it's not pretty, but it is working!

dwp99 283 Posted November 24, 2013 It keeps them off the floor it will also keep them clean. it also looks like you can add more dowels later. Good job.
Cal 393 Posted November 24, 2013 Nice job! Is that an open wall on the left? If it is, you might consider installing an electrical outlet over there. Be very simple to put a shelf below that lower rack of dowels to hold those other tools of the trade. I might try and cop this idea for myself now that I think about it... smendlik 113 Posted November 25, 2013 Thanks for the compliments. It took me a while in life but I'm finally learning that simple is often time better. To the left of the cutter is the door to my workshop, outside the door is the rest of the basement. I have an extension cord to give me slack I just didn't hook it back up yet. If I ever need to I can add a whole row on the top and left which would give me plenty of storage room. Please feel free to steal the concept of this design and please ask if you have any questions. The only word of caution I will give is try to cut straighter holes than I did, some of the pegs were pointing down at first.

LOL - will check back next year - you will have added 2 new rows - and on the pegs - you always want your peg to point slightly up . . . .
LPWash 75 Posted November 25, 2013 I like it. Simple, easy access by the cutter and made to grow for later. Nicely done.
