There is a manual called " newbie manual " ( to the best of my memory ) . It was made by member Paco . Search for that . It explains com port settings etc , which need to be set . Even with a serial cable you need to set the com port settings in the software along with a few others .

Like Rodger said it most likely a communication problem . In signblazer go to Cutter setup select your cutter and set your com port .

PS. Hello and welcome

Dan

Just for grins - turn off the cutter and close signblazer - with the usb caple hooked up turn on the cutter then start signblazer

What Operating system are you using?

Dan, I am trying to remember 5 years ago when I had the pcut - as I remember it could be a little touchy on that sequence, but it has been a long time and cutters since then haven't had the same problem.  maybe because I got away from signblazer also

if I remember right signblazer like the hardware to be present and on before initiating. guess I should have also asked if the loaded the ftdi drivers if the new laserpoint uses it like the old one did
