Rodger 527 Posted December 28, 2010 Here is the quick version . Jerry of SignBlazer made a deal with USCutter to package SignBlazer Elements with the cutters being sold in the fall of 2007 . Those buying cutters with it included could register & not have the nag/click thru screens to get thru . Elements was being sold for $99 from USCutter . Color Chrome First ( Jerry's company ) sold it for much more . Both USCutter & Color Chrome First sold the Pro & Hotshot versions for MUCH more from my memory . Jerry offered a 30 day trial version of Elements for people to try & pursuade them into buying the software . Other than the nag screens , it is exactly the same as the registered version of Elements . That 30 day trial version never terminated after the 30 days . Jerry passed & Color Chrome First tanked VERY fast . The Elements trial version has worked ever since ( close to 3 years ) . A lawsuit about an employee claiming certain " ownership " ensued . Ever since there has been talk about the lawsuit getting settled & evolved software being developed & released ..... ( fingers crossed ) There has never been any activation code to open Elements into Hot Shot or Pro , you had to buy that version . Hot Shot & Pro versions can be accessed in the Elements software ( I don't remember how to open those ) . You can't save or cut with them from the elements software from what I can remember .
