MH1351 blade not dropping READ IF YOUR REFINE BLADE ISN'T DROPPING!

Recommended Posts

Hi all I have had a mh 721 for nearly 2 years and it has had only very light use lately i have had a very similar problem except that insted of the blade not working at all it intermitantly releases some of the blade pressure part of the way through a cut and there for not cutting the vinyl properly ;D.Could this be the z chip? or has anyone had this problem before? Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

have you grounded the stand to the cutter?

No I have not. Sounds like I should do this. I will do it now. ;D just found heaps of info on here about grounding which may be the cause of another problem. Thanks all for all the great info ;D

Cheers

Chris

Hi guys, need help.

I have a problem with mh1351 (bought in december 2011), first when i cut with a pressure less than 30 gr everything was ok, but with power more than 30gr knife wont rise. I did test described above and everything worked well. Yesterday i cut some small project and after that knife stayed in upper position and wont drop, moves left and right and vinyl runs but knife is up.

If someone knows what could be the problem, it would be nice to share.

Tried to contact dealer in Germany but successlessly.

Thanks.

I have a GRC-61. the blade will lower and raise before and after the job is finished. It will not lift between cuts. when it starts it lowers and will cut A to B to C and so on, but will not lift. when the job is finished. The blade will lift and go back to its starting point. Can anyone tell me why, and how to fix this problem?

What kind of chip?

on the older model refine mh series there is a removable z-axis chip - I don't think the new ones are replaceable

Hi,  same problems here - have had a MH721 for a few years, only use it sparingly,  ran a job ok but then the last job it just lightly touched the vinyl.  After watching it looks like the blade is not going up and down on the job.  haven't done the battery test yet but does it sound like Z-chip toast?  carriage moves around fine but blade is not coming down,  any help thanks,

This is exactly the opposite of what my machine is doing. Bought and put in a new motherboard, simple enough... Now my blade holder will not go up between cuts, or while cutting like it used to so I get all my vinyl cut. I removed the carriage cover and I can manually move the blade holder up but it just falls back down.... Anybody heard of this one?

I have submitted tickets but the help just seems to be "hmmm. I have never heard of that before" When I mention that I should just buy a new, different brand, the CS rep states that might work....

Any help would be appreciated.
