Problem with Production Manager in Flexi Starter for Mac

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have ran into a problem with Flex Starter 8.5 V2 for Mac. I can cut a job, but when I send another job to the cutter I get this in the production manager " Cannot Find Driver". The funny thing is I can close production manager and click done on the cut/plot screen, then click cut/plot again and it will cut. It appears that the production manager is not shutting down or releasing the serial port after a job. Has anyone else ran into this problem? One other thing is sometimes the cutter will pause and stick on waiting during a job, but not often enough to really worry about.

My setup:

Macbook Pro

Snow Leopard

Flexi Starter 8.5 V2

Keyspan USA-19hs

Creation P-Cut CT-630

Thanks,

Randy

This sounds like a driver problem.  Have you tried doing this in another cutting software?  If you can do multiple cuts fine in another software, try updating the driver for your cutter in Flexi.  What is your cutter?  You can find new Flexi drivers at support.uscutter.com in the Downloads section.

This is likely a Snow Leopard issue.  It may take a flexi update to fix this issue, or an update to the keyspan driver.

My opinion is the update is needed by flexi.

Unfortunately vendors such as the keyspan folks and the flexi folks did not get copies of Snow Leopard before the public did so they can update their software.  Have you contacted SAI for support?

After the cut is completed what does the cutter screen say?

Thanks for all the suggestions.

YadirellT: I have a Creation P-Cut 630. I have checked US Cutter and all the have is Flexi drivers for Windows.

HowardI: I have contacted SAI and the email I got back was to look for a Snow Leopard driver for the keyspan. After I make a cut the screen on the cutter goes back to On Line.  It has to be a production manager issue, because I can close and reopen the program after each cut and it works fine. I think I am going to uninstall and remove all the kext files and just start over.

Thanks,

Randy

My bad rtfulk, I must have been blind when I first read your post.  At this point, I would lean to what howard is saying.  It appears that Snow Leopard is just too new to have any proper drivers out for it yet.  Hang in there for now.

YadirellT : no problem. It's not the end of the world I can still make my cuts, just have to close and reopen everytime but that is better than it not working at all.

Have you had issues with flexi loading in snow leopard??  It seems as flexi doesn't recognize the dongle or correctly unlock all the features.  I can open flexi but i dont have the features to cut/plot, use text, etc.  Are there any updates yet?

Thanks
