has anyone cut reflective vinyl with a 45 degree blade?

Recommended Posts

I've done it before. Worked fine to be honest. Just had to put the pressure down alot since it's thick

I have only used 45 degree blades . Like John! said , more pressure . The blade does not last long especially with the DOT reflective .

Do some test cuts ( my Co-Pam has a test function on the machine ) . make sure you can weed the decal before you cut many . The stuff I cut does not weed good no mater what compared to Oracal 651 , I would not try to cut intricate decals at all .

Just did a job last week with 45 degree blade (couldn't wait for my 60 degrees to come in).

CR630 and stock blade.

Slow it down to 20 on the speed pressure was about 135-140 (do a couple test cuts to get your pressure right).

Note that the reflective is a pain to weed anyway...seems to have this sticky clear coating or something...

Also, stay away from really small text and serif'ed fonts...

Hope that helps a bit...

Steve
