latitude42 5 Posted August 30, 2007 Hey all, Iv'e had some requests for boat lettering... but the customer wants a color fade vinyl ( like from red to black, top to bottom). I've seen letters done like that, but I can't seem to find the vinyl. Any ideas??? Thanks much!!!!
TaterNuts 3 Posted August 30, 2007 you could do it your self... Cut the image out.. but do not weed it... Shoot it with some rattle can paint... Then weed it... Wait for it to dry... Then install your app tape... Then install to your substrate... You may want to practice till you get good results...
TaterNuts 3 Posted August 30, 2007 unless you want like shade shift vinyl, where it changes colors at diffrent angles... www.signpile.com

Daniel T 0 Posted August 31, 2007 Lots of good advice in this thread. i have skinned this cat another way. using a spray bomb (Krylon FUSION) i have sprayed the vinyl and then set my blade depth a "hair" deeper for cutting. the cuts are clean, the colors are fused and the whole job looks proffesional. stormy 5 Posted August 31, 2007 I too use Krylon fusion for this stuff and use Tater's method. You can pick up a can of Krylon for a few bucks at Wal Mart. If you're wanting a shade shifter or any specialty vinyl, I use Phase II graphics. Cheap and look awesome!
