    Monograms....

I was trying to come up with a neat gift for my niece who is 17 and currently looking into college. I don't know her likes/dislikes...and her Mom had no suggestions. Then I thought...a neat monogrammed t-shirt would be great. Easy-peezy right? JRL I have gained immense respect for those who create monograms. I had tough letters to deal with and I would have saved time using the standard circle/square/diamond designs.... but, no, I have to get fancy! The first photo with white background is of two samples I found online.... amazing, balanced monograms....that is what I was aiming for. The second, with the blue background is what I managed to come up with for a pocket monogram and a shirt front design. It's harder than it looks gang! AND, of course, this site was down (AGAIN) and I couldn't get any of your helpful input! Sue2
  2. When I am cutting my monograms some little spots look like they have been picked or stabbed. I can't figure out what is causing them. Too much pressure? Need a new blade? Is it the font? See pictures for what i'm talking about. you can see little white spots where the vinyl is picked or looks lifted off. it doesnt look good on personalized items. some letters are worse than others. HELP please...any advice is greatly appreciated.
