  1. Im using a laser point 2 and sure cuts a lot, when my design is say 24", the finished design is 23.5. Its shorter on both axis. Is there some adjustment somewhere to fix this.

best way to apply this vinyl leteering

OK, i was able to layer one side at home, but it did end up with some small bubbles, im thinking for the other side apply the bottom red either wet or dry, then apply the yellow on top wet using paper application tape ?? Sound about right ?? Thanks

Need advice on making vinyl decal

Thanks Eazy, when i did it i did end up with a space between the letters.
  5. Im helping my neighbor re-letter his boat and im not sure of the best way to install the lettering. Its 2 colors one slighltly offset from the other and its 8" high by about 5-6 feet. Should i try and layer the 2 colors after i cut them at the office or apply each one to the boat 1 at a time using the wet method. Also on a few videos i have seen them using the paper looking transfer tape and not the more plastic looking that i have? The vinyl is oracal 951 if that matters. Thanks

Need advice on making vinyl decal

Wildgoose, thanks for the input on scal. I usually will do most of the work in corel draw, then open it in scal. Still trying to find my way around the vinyl cutting stuff, ill have to check out the program you mentioned.

That sounds good, now the hard question, can this be done with scal ? Ill have to see if i can find some tutorials or something, im guessing front minus back for the knockout, then weld or combine the reds ??
  9. First, im kinda new to this, so forgive me if its a stupid question. My neighbor asked me if i could make a new sticker for his boat. Not sure if this should be 3 layers, bottom being the full letters in red with the middle of the "O" solid, next is the letters in gold (slightly smaller then bottom letters) also with a solid "O", top layer is the fish and the line. Im using scal if that helps with a LP2 cutter. Or should the red outline and the fish be combined some how into 1 layer. Thanks
  10. First off, im new at this. Got a lp2 cutter and have played around with the greenstar vinyl that came with, then i got some oracal and made life easier. Just did some names on the back of poly shirts for little leage in the area using theromflex. I tried using the same settings and blade that i had been using for the regular vinyl ( i re-adjusted the blade using a scrap of the thermoflex), pressure was set at 120g, this did nothing to the thermoflex. Currently im using a 60 degree blade and have the blade turned out (probably too far) and pressure at about 190g, it cuts now and leaves a scratch on the clear backing. Im going to readjust the blade so it just cuts the vinyl when using it by hand, but im pretty sure this will require the pressure to be even higher. Just curios how high is too high on the pressure setting ? Should i be using 1 60 degree blade with the thermoflex ? Thanks
  11. Looking to purchase a cutter for making stickers and also in the future cutting out heat press transfers, so I was thinking something that offers the contour cutting would be a good idea. Was looking at the laser point 2, but then I noticed that the sc also features the contour cutting and is $140 less with the stand. What is the advantage of the laser point 2 over the sc and is it worth the extra $140 ? Thanks
