Ok I use Inkscape to design a file with red and black. I open it in SC Pro,I see all lines in red and black. In the spot where I can choose colors I have my red and black squares, but there is also a third square. It is black with a white diagonal line in it. Does anybody know what this third square means? Brent

Thanks. I went back into Inkscape selected all lines in a group changed the color and saved. I then changed the color back and saved again. It did get better but still wasn't right. So I opened the file in sign blazer and everything was correct. So the first place I would suspect corruption is Sign Cut. I have a couple of thing I am going to try before I reinstall. Brent

Thank you. For the most part you explanation makes sense. What I find most confusing is in the dragons head. In Inkscape it is all one color, but in sign cut it is 3 different colors. If the pallets don't match and the program has to guess what color it is, shouldn't it guess the same color for all lines in the group? I will try your advice and adjust my pallet and see how it goes. Brent

I designed up a paint mask in Inkscape. I set each section to a different color so if I wanted to I can cut each out individually by color. When I open the file in Sign Cut the colors have changed on me. Any idea how to correct this? Brent

Well I got my cutter yesterday and I love it. I learned a lot with the first one. With this font the thin parts are way to thin at this size. Brent

Thanks for all the welcomes everybody! Brent.

I order to try to figure out what I did wrong I had to make it as simple as I could to figure it out. In the new file I made 3 blobs with labels all made with the same pen tool. 1 I did nothing to, 2 I did stroke to path, 3 I did stroke to path then broke apart and deleated 1 of the paths. In SBE, #3 was the only 1 that showed up when the cutter icon was hit. In Sign Cut Pro all 3 showed up in preview with slightly different results. In preparation for my PCut to arrive I created a stencil for an airbrush tattoo. Here's the problem, after saving it as .eps and I import it into SBE and the eyes and nose disappear. I can see them up to the point I click on the cutter icon. I made all other lines with the pen tool then >stroke to path. The eyes and nose were made with the pen tool but I went all the way around and clicked on the first node to close the path. Any idea why they would disappear? Inkscape v4.7 thanks, Brent Mighty_Mouse.svg Mighty_Mouse.eps Mighty_Mouse.svg Mighty_Mouse.eps

Yes you can. Open a new Default doc and set all the preferences that you want. Then save as Default, I cannot remember if you have to browse to the original doc's location. If you do it should be located in C:Program FilesInkscapesharetemplates. Choose save, choose yes to over writing the existing file and every time you open a new Default doc it will have your preferences. If you want to get fancy you can save a Default for different types of jobs like Default_Banner, Default_Shirt, Defau... you get the picture. Brent
