  1. Hello, have never bid on a job this big before, would appreciate anyone's help!! 1. 4- 4'x8' double sided signs 2. 4- 4'x8' one sided signs 3. 4- 3'x5' double sided signs 4. 4- 3'x5' one sided signs 5. 24- yard signs (18'x24")- all double sided. -All the big signs are wood signs. All of these signs have a maroon/burgundy background with yellow lettering. They are political signs. I've done signs for a while, but I would appreciate any opinions/help! A few months back I did 3-4'x4' single sided wood signs @ 250.00 a piece. These had the 4"x4" posts with fancy end caps, so I'm kind of going off of this. but my quote is coming out way high. I think?? I'm going to attach a pic of the lettering. Like I said, any help is appreciated!!! Thank you, jus kind of lost on this one?
  2. HDN(David), your to much!! Thank you!! all you guys/ladies! That's actually about where I was heading, towards the $6k Mark, but have never done political signs, didn't know if there was a unwritten discount rule, for making political signs. Another question, do any of you know where they sell maroon coroplast? I've looked high and low!! Can't find it? does anyone sell it? Thanks again for any help/suggestions/advice!!
  3. Hello, jus wondering if anyone knew how to, or if anyone already has SCALP installed onto a hp mini laptop? Was wanting to use the mini for craft shows or graphic outings! since it doesn't have a cd rom, is there a way to install by USB or ?? appreciate your help!
  4. Hello, Have to price a job for 24 hoodies, just have to put vinyl on backs of hoodies, 24 different last names. approx 2" x 10" per name. white! what do you guys think? appreciate any help!
  5. So you think I should add a kind of cushion amount in there, say $25?? that should cover at least two hoodies, well depending on what type they are. I don't know?? like I said, jus kind of in the dark on this one. What would you charge for this?? 24 hoodies, they jus need the last names on the back, in white, probably gonna use FDC thermal advantage opaque white, which is about $2.71 a ft, here in Abq, NM.

  8. Hey jaybird, thank you for your replying, jus when it seems I'm a lil more comfortable pricing my shirts/ jobs. I get these different kind of job bids, which is all good! Got to learn how to price it all, so how do you come up with that price, $6 per hoodie, right? Some kind of formula?

    Text to path

Place your circle (path) onto screen, then go to the text type tool, to path. click on that. Then on your top menu, click on the path selection, then click reverse path. When you go back down to type on path it should come out the way you want it. You might have to tweak it a lil bit with the text tools, or change size a bit, but this is the way I learned to do it. It should come out ok, Hope this helps??
  10. Hello out there, So a potential shirt/apparel customer calls, says he has the Dri fit shirts/jackets. Says he just wants me to cut design, which they already have, on disc(one color), and heatpress it on to the shirts/jackets. Fairly new to heatpress pricing. Was thinking then of charging him like I charge for decals The Height+Width/2. Then adding half of that for install. Say a 8"X8" design would be $12.50 per shirt/jacket? This sounds high to me, since he does already have the apparel. Was thinking of using this formula, then jus dropping price down to $10.00, or even taking the install price off, just leaving it at $8??? Just don't know! Can someone please advise or direct me to the right price. I appreciate any responses. Take care!
  11. As far as the prcing of the design they want though, is it safe to use this price formula? Thanks again!!
  12. Actually, didn't consider neither one of those issues, but you guys/girls are absolutely right! That's why I love this forum, AWESOME!!! Still new, learning continuously! Thank you!!

    Cutting thru the image

Hello, think this might help. I had the same exact problem, I think? Was putting in designs or fonts or whatever and the cutter would just make random cuts thru my vinyl or whatever I was cutting??? I called US Cutter support and, think his name was Kyle, helped me out. He said I didn't even have a driver installed onto my computer to run the program correctly?? If you call them they can log on, on their side, to get into your computer and fix this problem, anyway, it made a huge, huge difference. So far all cuts after that installation are flawless. Very happy with my SCAL and SC series cutter now. Hope this helps, Good Luck!!
  16. Hello out there, Jus picked up a small job,12 shirts (cotton), Navy blue, All they want is two letters "DC", 3' X 3", right under the front mid collar. I'm new to heatpress vinyl pricing, so I'd like to be very careful on how I charge. Want to build clients, not scare them away, but not give them away either!! Make sense? If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. I was kind of thinking to charge like I do my decals, but am I thinking wrong?? Thank you for your help!!
  17. Hello Jay's place, you say your color shirts are $6, up to XL, then $8, 2X to 6X. This is this for the graphic right?, The vinyl you place on the shirts? This does not include the shirt price, right? Thanks again, jus very much in the dark here. In Albuquerque, NM, and I don't know of any T-shirt places here that do Heatpress vinyl. Was trying to get help out here, a lil guidance, but with no resources? I've called around, but only to compare to screenprinting prices, and these guys are way higher than what I had in mind. Thanks!!! NAVA Graphics.
  18. Hey guys, thank you for your help, I did mean 3", thank you for clarifying that. So I ended up charging $85.00 for 12 shirts. This just included a 3" X 3" "DC on the mid front, right under the collar. Two colors. I just used the formula (3+3 inches=6, divided 6 by 2=3, plus half of that ($1.50), for two colors.$4.50 X 12=54.00. Then divided 54 by 2,=27. To charge for the install of the emblems. The customer gave me the shirts. Grand total came to $81.00, then just rounded to $85.00. Does this make sense? I think it helped. Anyway, thank you again for your help! I appreciate it very much, I'm sure I'll be on here again! Take Care!
