    Vinyl on paper

Not exactly sure where this should go so I'm trying it here. I have a bunch of scrap vinyl and would like to cut my logo and put it on paper bags I have for when I sell shirts. I realize a rubber stamp would probably be easier but I want to use up some of these scraps. Sooo - here's my question. How do I transfer the cut image? Regular transfer tape is not going to let go (I don't think) without ripping up the bag. Or would it be better to just use my heat vinyl scraps and the heat press?

It's about 5 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches tall.

Because I already had these bags on hand.

I'm confused why this idea seems to be upsetting you.

    Vinyl on paper

The bag is a merchandise bag for when I deliver shirts I've created for an order. Yes, it's a give-away. But it's my brand. Do you ask the same questions of the stores who brand their bags?

    Vinyl on paper

So here is what I was trying to do! It worked with only one little sticky spot on one bag.

    Vinyl on paper

Not meant to "devalue" my work in any way - it's meant to brand my work.
  8. Not sure where this should go actually. But once your vinyl is cut (when it's on a roll) - what do any of you use to cut it off without removing the whole roll from the cutter? Any slick tricks out there?

    Vinyl on stainless steel buckets

Jburns: These are small milk buckets and are being used as an award. But I would like them to actually be usable too, if possible. 101LEDS - What's the name of the pen?
  12. Need help please. Using white Flex 123 heat press vinyl. (This stuff can be used with a lower heat setting) Anyways, my problem is that I can't see my cut lines. Cigarette ashes seem to be the only thing I've found that lets me see the cutlines but that's a mess and smells. I've tried regular blackboard chalk, and carpenter's chalk. The problem with carpenter's chalk (besides it's permanent) is that when I brush it on some of my detail pops up. This HPV has minimal stickyness - so when you press the piece back down it won't stick because you've gotten chalk on it. Arrrrgghhhh! Any suggestions? I've also tried a lightbox but this stuff is thick. Think I'll stick with the easy weed but would really like to use up this stuff since I already have it.
  13. Never mind - I think I figured something out. For anyone else with the same predicament here's what I did. Cocoa! lol Used a pouncer and pounced on cocoa then gently wiped off with a kleenex. Left just enough cocoa in the cut lines for me to see to weed.

    Neon Vinyl

Ok - I goofed, I think. I purchased neon vinyl to do a door window. Finally getting the courage up to work on it (because I have to piece it) and just realized my vinyl is white on the back side. I really wanted to install this on the inside of the glass so it's not exposed to the weather. Is there a neon vinyl that is colored on both sides?

    Neon Vinyl

Sooo - if I were going to paint it - what type of paint would you recommend?

    Neon Vinyl

What bright colors would you guys suggest?

    Neon Vinyl

Yeah - but the guy wants his logo on the front door in hot pink! I just assumed when I ordered this neon that it was two sided like all the other vinyl I've ordered.
  18. After pressing a vinyl design and removing the carrier I see that there was a small amount of vinyl on the edge of the carrier that didn't get removed. I'm assuming I'm screwed but is there any way of salvaging this shirt? Bright pink shirt - black vinyl - 4X. Ugh!

    Heat press vinyl help please

Thanks for the ideas - I'll give them both a try. Can't hurt anyways!

    Heat press vinyl help please

I don't want that black line that was on the edge of the carrier sheet - shouldn't have been there but somehow I missed weeding it.

    Font help please

Never mind - found it. In case anyone else wants to know - the un-distressed version of Marcelle Script is Script MT Bold.

    Font help please

I'm working on a design from a client - they used Marcelle Script as the font but that is a nightmare for weeding because of it's distressed features. Can anyone tell me the name of another font that is the same as Marcelle Script without the distressing?
  24. Our local high school is handing out Google Chromebooks to the students this year. Along with the Chromebook they are supplying Flak Jacket cases to protect them. The school is encouraging the kids to decorate their cases (so they can easily be identified). Sooo here are my questions. 1. If I make an adhesive vinyl sticker - do you think it will hold up to daily wear and tear? And will it be removable if the kid changes their mind/style down the road? 2. Would it be better to do a permanent heat applied vinyl? 3. What would you suggest? My daughter is a senior this year and will only need hers for one year - but some of her friends will need theirs for multiple years. Any advice would be awesome! If this is workable we may advertise at the school that we can do this!

    Cutter Upgrade

Currently I use a Silhouette Cameo (just getting started). I recently completed a 3' x 4' double sided coroplast sign order (12 of them). Kind of a pain when I can only cut 12" width. So - here's my question. If I were to upgrade to a 24" cutter what kind of a learning curve am I looking at? Anyone else upgrade from a silhouette to a larger cutter? Would love to hear your do's, don'ts, tips and advice. Thanks in advance!
