are you using the open feature or the import feature?
-
try this one. import this one and import yours and look at them side by side. you'll notice one has lines to designate where the cutting path will be. trailrider.eps trailrider.eps

yes, and i can to, but when you select the image, there are usualy red lines that follow the edges. these red lines are the paths that the blade follows when its sent to the cutter. where did you get the image from?
-
There are no paths to cut. you can save an image as an .eps and all that will do if you send it to the cutter is cut a box the size of the image.

its called engine turn gold and comes in two sizes averys part number#: A2859-S ( large circles ) A2858-S ( Small Circles ) just a littel f.y.i. use a 60 degree blade, it will cut alot easier and not dull your 45 as quick

can you post a pic so we can see? -
what type of application fluid would you guys reccomend? doing layered decals is a bit rough without some sort of pre placement liquid.
-
see, you figured it out! and it wasnt too bad right?
-
ok try this, i opened it up and there were layers on top of layers on top of layers. got rid of the un-nessesary ones and compunded it. COOL.eps COOL.eps

ok im looking at it now, and how do you think your weeding it wrong? the letters have the triangles comming off of it, so just have the image up on the pc to use as a reference while you weed.

im having some issues with blade pressure, durring a single job, the knife cuts too deep in some spots and not deep enough in other places. what can that come from?
-
ive now gotten my system working but now im having another issue. i can cut anyhting i want. but afterthat job finishes and i go to cut something else, it wont . the project manager starts the progress bar but it sits a 0% and nothing happens. eventually a message comes up that says "Write port error." if theres something wrong with the port then it shouldnt cut at all then, correct?
-
ahh ok, then that makes sense, because when i would open the device manager to change the com # there was also a bit rate setting and the 2 numbers that i could pick from matched the baud setting. i just kept having opposite numbers each time i would reset. thanks again ken :D
-
what is the baud setting?
-
well ive made some progress, only by pure luck. i was going through the settings on the cutter itself, and i accidentaly changed the baud setting. i dont know what it is or what it dose, but i think the setting is 09600 it works and when its 19200 it dosent. its cutting fine and consistent. so for the moment, it seems to be working fine. its set to com 2 direct usb connection. so i really appreciate all the input and thanks ken for trying to help me diagnose the problem. when i get home tomorrow i will be making sure it want a fluke.

the setup is directly from the cutter to the rear of the pc. ive tried every usb port i have ( 8 ) and nothing, ive even gone into the device manager and changed the port assignment on it. ive gone through about 20 different com assignments. no results. the chicken scratch they call a "manual" says that most software wont support any com ports other than 1 or 2

i am now not getting anything to cut at all. the progress bar comes up in the project manager, goes from 0 through 100 in a couple seconds and nothing happens with the cutter. there is a reset button, that has no effect. if i turn the cutter off, and then try to send a job, the computer picks up that its not there. so its sensing the presence of it, just not communicating to it. nobody from cutterpros has returned my e-mail about up-to-date drivers.
-
bought 2 new cables and tried a different power cord, no dice.
-
thats correct
-
your both correct, theres only one class b usb port on the side of the cutter and i have no 9-pin connection on the back of my pc. im not sure how the drivers could be installed incorrectly when windows dose it for me. if theres something im missing, please tell me, lol im about to pull whats left of my hair out!, im sorry for asking so many questions but would i be able to use the intergrated 9-pin monitor port?
