  1. I used to be an active member here but got out of the business. I was recently contacted by one of my daughter's old teachers who I had done some work for previously asking if I would do some work for him. He's looking to have some print music cut out to apply to stairs then clear coat over. If interested private message me our e-mail address and I'll pass it along to him. Thanks, Steve

    Tape Dispenser

I was searching for construction ideas so I can make a tape dispenser and came across this: http://www.therotator.net/the-rotator-30-tape-dispenser/ Sorry if this is old news, I haven't seen it mentioned here before. Seems a little pricey but not too hard to make.

    Some Truck Fun

That is a nice looking truck. I've been dreaming of an F-150 and that's one of the two colors I like. Sure wish I could afford one right now!

    A few newly made items

I made a couple of new items over the weekend. The trailer hitch I made for a friend who is a cyclist, I have 4 more people wanting one so that worked out well. The keychain is for another friend who started a non-profit charity giving coats and blankets to Cleveland area homeless. I thought he needed a new keychain for his bus.

I am now a sublimation junkie...........

Nice work Easy, the only thing you want to watch out for in the future is to make sure the artwork goes completely to all the edges. If you look to the right of her picture there is a little white. Either move the photo over to the right a little or make sure the background covers the entire area. That said the colors and design are great. Welcome to the addiction, and yes, Conde is definitely an enabler!

    Question regarding sand blasting...

I always used 651 and had great success, even with fine detail. Just be sure to rub it down well so it has a good bond around the edges. I found that soaking the glass in hot soapy water for about 30 minutes after etching made the vinyl come off a lot easier.
  12. I'm in the midst of making 100 2-layer decals for my daughter's orchestra department and thought I had a plan. I made a quick and easy layering stand using some PVC and acrylic sheet stock I had laying around where the acrylic was set on a 45 degree angle vertically; I had the decals all cut and weeded with registration marks to align the two layers; I had some lamps to use as backlighting. I was eager to get started, that's where the plan began to unravel. I didn't like the 45 degree vertical surface, the lights weren't bright enough, and the registration marks weren't in the most convenient of locations. I revamped the table to be horizontal and grabbed the 4' fluorescent light off of the ceiling and stuck it under the work surface. I then had the thought of cutting the backing piece in half to allow me to expose the registration marks in the center of the page which allowed me to apply two decals at a time instead of four, much less problematic. If you look at the photo of the 4 decals close up you can see that the only exposed and stuck surfaces are the stars right down the center. So, what's the point of all this? Two things; First to share what worked for me and what didn't. Second, to remind you that it's never to late to change the game plan in order to make things work better. Okay, now back to work during the commercial breaks of Gotham, pretty good new show.

    1934 Logo Throw way back!

I like the new commercials as well. I hadn't realized the Dodge brothers started out with Ford, but I"m not surprised. The badge looks great.

  16. Do some research about Legal Zoom before comitting to anything, I've heard about some horror stories with them.
  17. Check into sole proprietorship in lieu of LLC, much cheaper and for this type of business I think it's the best option. If anybody disagrees I'd love to hear why.

Cutt off knife for my Graptec CE 6000

I picked up a two pack of these, one large and one small http://www.stanleytools.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=SNAP%2DOFF+BLADE&TYPE=PRODUCT&PARTNUMBER=10-151&SDesc=18mm+Quick+Point%26%23153%3B+Knife I keep one on my cutter and use the other for triming app tape and sizing the decals. They are super cheap and work great.

    A few newly made items

Thanks. Yep, I got these from Conde as well, they have both the 1.25" & 2.00" http://www.dyetrans.com/products.php?webmaincat=sub_prods&websubcat=trailer_hitch_cover

    Red turning orange

I usually do FRP for 75 seconds but I don't think it would make that much of a difference. I use the driver from Conde but have thought about going to the power driver. I do great with graphics but my photos seem to come out dark for some reason.

I'm located in Ohio which I promise you is in the US, not China! This is an actual offer, not a smart a$$ reply!! I actually have a few cards if you are looking for more than one and will give a discount if you buy more than 1 Steve PM me if interested, NP if not.

    2nd Truck Wrap Complete!

Amazing work. I like the fact that you can completely change the color of the truck without paiting it. Out of curiosity, how hard is it to remove the wrap?

New cutting light, now I can see

I like this solution a lot. I have a desk lamp mounted to the side that I shine on as needed but this is a much cleaner look. Thanks for sharing.
