  1. I made my own BS using offcuts of 5mm thick Foamex (extruded foam board) ........cut to size (approx 120mm wide), chamfer the edge with sand paper, glue a strip of felt in place and your done.........made a full set of different sizes......works great John

    Flexi Pro & contour cutting

You can contour cut in Flexi using any cutter.......you manually allign the registration marks........from the effects menu select contour cut and specify wether you want to cut inside/on or outside the edge of whatever you want to cut......when you print it make sure that you specify how many registration marks you want ( I find 4 is most accurate). After printing load into your cutter and from your print/cut manager send the cut file ....simply follow the on screen instructions to allign the print ( easier with a pen fitted) john

    Flexi Offset

Been messing with this setting today and for me 0.27 seem to be spot on with my MH 871......I have a 1351 as well so will try and get that perfect tomorrow. Would the blade manufacturer influence this setting? john
  4. What blade offset do you guys that run a Refine with Flexisign use? John

    Refine with optical Eye

No it cannot as far as I can see do that. john

    Refine with optical Eye

been using this for a couple of days now........for contour cutting it really cannot do anything a normal Refine cannot.....the laser is just that a laser dot.....not an 'OPUS' eye that can follow a contour line like a Graphtec. Still using Flexi contour cutting I can now cut contour shapes on both my cutters using the 4 registration mark setup john

    Refine with optical Eye

Well it has arrived and is assembled and cutting........it is more substantially built than my MH1351..... identical shape, control panel and stand.....just heavier weight. Now just got to workout how to use the laser for contour cutting .......as this is not mentioned in the instruction manual. john

    Refine with optical Eye

well I bought one of these i'll post up my thoughts when it arrives. john

    cut paths don't meet up

I'd put money on it being the offset setting in the software..........more expensive plotters can compensate for this in their firmware......the Refine needs it setup in the pc software. john
  10. hi, I have not been around the forum for a while. my MH 1351 is still running great ( slight vinyl drift appart). My question is this.......on Ebay Uk I came accross a Refine 721 with optical eye. Has anyone got one? And if so any feedback on how well they work? All the best John

    tracking issue

The vinyl always moves the same way.......measured the rollers the vinyl sits on today and it sits of by 5mm from one end to the other.....I always pulled the roll tight before locking down the pinch rollers..........think this might be contributing? john
  12. Hi, I have had my MH 1351 for a few months now and am generally happy with it............however! I am experiencing vinyl tracking issues......I don't think it is down to me loading the rolls of vinyl. any suggestions as to how to improve tracking? john
  13. Sorry....just saw your reply....i'm on XP pro....it is what I know and if it ain't borke...don't fix it! John
  14. USB connection is problematic........use the serial connection. just my opinion. john

    KNURL MARKS IN VINYL

Better to have perfect tracking and worry about the marks when you fit.......this happens on all plotters when you use fine or soft vinyl. john
