Robo Master/Craft Robo not opening files....
Big-Kid posted a topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
Long story short my CC100 cutter took a break from lack of spare time and my laptop went kaput. Everything worked ok before this (simple stuff) and I had a few things saved for later use. Now the laptops back in working order and I thought I had everything downloaded properly. BUT, when I go to open any of the saved files I get fail blocked with a pop up message saying "The file is outside the range of the paper size which can be drawn up." I've been able use Robo Master to make new projects and I will try to cut after this. But I would like access to the saved projects so I don't have to re-make any of them. Any idea's? -
Cheers for the info DG I will hopefuly have AI knocking at my door before Christmas

Thanks guys, I just need to send in that proof of teachership. Before I did, I just wanted to make sure that this new C4 edition will be as good and as compatiable as the previous C3 version. Has anyone worked with the new version yet? Or have any info they could share? The listed info from Adobe doesn't state much about any differences or about upgrades from the older version.

Has anyone tried out or worked with with this new version? I actually wasn't paying attention and just realized a new version had come out . Manily, will CS4 be compatiable with everything CS3 was? I'd assume with a new version, comes better features. Though at times issue's like compatability get left behind. I was getting set to jump into Illustrator CS3. Reading up on how well it works and what not, just took me a long time to get there . Now with CS4 realesed, it would stand to reason to just jump into the latest and hopefully greatest..... Unless someone has good reasons to get into something else insted? Lastly, from what i've found, the "Education Edition" is around 99% similar to the non-education edition. Can anyone confirm this? Or what would be misssing? Adobe states free shipping before Jan. 19th. We'll see if that applies to Hawaii ..........but i'm not holding my breath on that one..........

WOW, that looks crazy Mike Nice work

Thats a perfect font for that Cody Is that silver for the outside of the laptop?

Does the rounded tip allow you to "pick up" the vinyl? Or is it better at "holding it down" when you are weeding? I do wish they would open up an HF store here

WOW .....now how to do we get Mazda to sponsor a race like that here? Is the race at one of their coorprate buildings or dealerships? How did the race go? Hope you pick-up alot of business from it for all of that work

I've been trying to upload some pix's into a new thread, or onto someones existing one na d have not been able to? Sometimes it'll give me the error message "you took to long or your files are too large" or just say my pix were too big nad the limit is just over 1000kb. Funny thing is the pix are UNDER 100 kb (trippled checked that one and double checked I was trying the right pix). Tried doing 1, 2 or 3 pix but same results. Have I missed something else??? I could have sworn I uploaded one of my pix to someone elses thread recently? But no-go for me today? I gotta try that trick John, thanks . I've been doing the re-size's in Paint. Works, but not the quickest

Do They Sell Backing Paper? (or whatever it's called....)
Big-Kid replied to Big-Kid's topic in General discussion
Thanks Haumana. I'm looking for something more temp so I can lay the different colors on there. I guess I should stop being chang and cut out a larger peice of vinyl, weed it and use that backing paper to do the layering. I'm trying to post the pix up but ran into a small glitch .....lol I'm TRYING to apply the different colors and a couple of items onto one peice of backing paper or something, so the kids can take it with them. At times they keep their stickers in their folders or whatever, but don't even stick them onto something. But the younger kids like my daughter, will have a difficult time trying to apply it in a couple of different peices Might try the coroplast. I saw some at HawaiianGraphics the other day. Pretty sure they had smaller pieces, but gotta imagine they'll also cost more. The doubled over app tape and wax paper have been working so far, they just look kinda ghetto -
Do They Sell Backing Paper? (or whatever it's called....)

I'm wondering what others use when you need something to lay vinyl onto? I've been dabbling into multi colored fun stuff, and something like white is not always the dominate color for that project. Sometimes i've found it easier to lay the colors onto something using the app tape. Do they sell a low cost backing paper material? Or should I just stop being cheap-o and just cut out bigger peices, peel the unused portion (though there would be alot of unused vinyl)and them start layering? I've been expiermenting with wax paper and app tape. Both seem to be working with limited success so far, but i'd like something "prettier" than wax paper....lol I've folded the app tape over so that the sticky side's are touching each other. After I lay the vinyl on there I repply a fresh piece of app tape for application. Thanks for the help -

SWEET Charlie Those blue flames came out superb Was that Static X MGT done for a mag? I thought I remembered one of them doing a StaticX article and truck for them? -
kneal, is that a lgiht brown/tan or a gold color?
-
Kool, thanks for the tips Cody Out of curiosity, is it not common practice to leave your companies name somewhere on the sign/magnet/banner? Like having a little "Signs by SynFX" down in the corner of that magnet?

Anyone gotten or requested a free sample from them before? http://www.adamsmagnetic.com/request/f_request.php Or has anyone tried out their products?
