You need the usb drivers for your plotter installed first. Your plotter uses a usb emulation chip with special drivers. -
Rotatrim vs. Dahle (vs. Manual) input please
Dakotagrafx replied to haumana's topic in Pre-sale questions
It was a lucky buy for sure. I would think that Rotarian would be sweet. I know we used the heck out of our cheaper ones before I found the big one -

can't speak for those but I found a NEOLT a few years ago including shipping was $200 - - - - we had one in the GIS shop I worked in and they are indestructible if you can find one reasonably. the reviews on that rotatrim are impressive picture was last year during bathroom reno when the cutter wasn't getting much love -
Help applying application tape please….

same method I use - works great and I leave the clear for the crafters, you can't apply a decal wet with clear I seriously need to raise the price of the one I have in the buy/sell section lol - -

Graphtec CE7000-60 Head Height Settings
Dakotagrafx replied to JonaDoom's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
I'm going to wait on skeeter for this one - never heard of the carriage height being adjustable - but the buckling is a common knowledge issue with that model -
not a scalp user as I disliked it when I tried it but should be a punch out, cut out or remove overlap feature -

like this just make 3 layers with 3 sets of registration marks - I would just change the top layer registration marks to another color so it is easier to follow along - other than that I think you just didn't work it down a little at a time while you peeled the backing - it takes practice

Graphtec CE7000 Push Rollers
Dakotagrafx replied to ECombs's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
even with the fc I don't let the plotter pull the vinyl off the roll - I still unroll what I think the project needs off and let it hang out the back so the plotter isn't pulling any weight except the hanging vinyl - glad you are making progress -
so far on win 11, after getting used to the menu that reminds me more of a mac, I have had no issues (knock on wood) - feeling lucky. but I get what darcshadow is saying it is hard to learn the little navigation changes - wife and myself are thinking in a couple of months of going to streaming service from dish and feeling a lot like an old bugger new having to learn something new after being comfortable for 25+ years. now I do have 2 of the windows 10 machines (one mine and one moms) that just won't do the last 2 updates and after spending 3 days researching and trying different fixes gave up for a while - I needed a break

Graphtec CE7000 Push Rollers
Dakotagrafx replied to ECombs's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
glad you got your plotter to work properly - one note is to always prefeed and never have the plotter pull directly from the roll. as to the earlier post - I have personally had a dozen graphtec plotters over the years with no issues until the ce-7000 - having run many many 50 ft rolls thru them am fairly confident in my technique. I am curious your earlier "bunching" - was that due to pulling from the roll or an indication of the same issue as earlier described cropping up. can you take another roll (as most of us change colors many times during a week of cutting and have no problems for the 16ft like you did with the roll that was left in the media basket for days? Hoping your earlier bunching is because you "rolled the vinyl" and had the plotter pull it from the roll and that the issue has indeed been fixed. -

CE6000-60 Plus, 2 Questions...

haven't seen that one before - do you have another blade holder to try? I always have some cheap ones around for replacement and for my reflectives blade -

that one myth has caused more problems over the years and it still lingers on - - - skeeter has the proper way and hopefully has you on track. -

Contour cutting not working for this image.
Dakotagrafx replied to crossfitcomet's topic in VinylMaster CUT, LTR, PRO & DSR
you have to create a vector contour line for the plotter to cut it - a plotter cannot cut around a raster image -
there is no drying in sublimation - the ink turns to a gas - I use cactus wraps at 400 degrees in the oven for 15 minutes. are you using wraps in the oven or a mug press? you might want to check if a press to make sure it is reaching the 400 degrees there is also a big difference in how even the poly layer is coated on mugs from different vendors - where did you buy the mugs?
-
the ink has to reach around 400 degrees to turn to a gas and attach to a polyester surface - if the press is not capable of reaching 4000 degrees the ink will not turn to a gas so no transfer will happen
-
is your software activated?
-
there is no way with a cricuit easy press ( essentially a big iron) to get a even heat nor even pressure over time on a transfer if you are thinking of selling you product - time, temp and pressure are all important when applying HTV for customers

After years of decent service MH871 cutter fails at large cuts and goes crazy Help?
Dakotagrafx replied to bmxunderground's topic in MH Series Vinyl Cutters
if you really want to mess with it some more before you buy any parts to troubleshoot which part it is - you can take it apart and try reseating all the connections and ribbon cables, just to rule that out - but realistically if you start buying a new mainboard and display and that doesn't do it (or even if it does) you have put a lot of money into an OLD plotter that has served you well - I have repaired and refurbed many plotters and just my 2 cents - it is time to put that old work horse out to pasture
