I use the Oracal 970RA for vehicle wrapping all the time. Works great, definitely a good product. I wouldn't recommend using the standard graphic vinyl such as the Oracal 751 or 951 for the application. That style vinyl isn't meant to be constantly peeled and re positioned like you have to in this style install, the adhesive will eventually start separating from the vinyl. Only use the vinyl designed for wrapping and you'll be in good shape.

Looking for a person to contract with that has at least a 34" wide cutter. Basically I'd send you the files and you'd just cut the vinyl for me and send back. Pretty easy. Would prefer someone on my side of the country for shipping time reasons, but would be willing to look at anybody willing. This would obviously be a profitable thing for you. Just looking for a temporary solution until my company expands a little more and can purchase a wider cutter. I have an immediate need for this, so fast responses would be great. Located in Southern California.

Possible to export .sbd files as .png aka 'clear' background?

You can always use the magic eraser tool once you have it in photoshop to quickly get rid of the white. -
What he said^^^^ Also would be a good idea for you to print some registration marks in each color to make it easier to line up the colors when your applying the ap tape. Check this video out, shows perfectly how to properly make a multi-layered decal.

LOL. I guess we can share it since we're on opposite ends of the country LOL. Mine came from another venture I was already doing. RPMperformanceblog.com. I'm heavily into the automotive scene, so it just fit.

Another thing to keep in mind Is intricate designs like that require a lot of thought on how you can pull them off. Keep in mind they have to be cut and weeded. I base the designs on that fact and sometimes you have to compromise what you want to do to make it functional. Just food for thought... That particular design probably had close to 20 hours design time from start to where it was ready to cut in Signblazer.

I used a Graphtec CE5000-60 24" cutter for the work. Best cutter out there IMHO. Slice&Dice had some good advice for getting better at weeding. As far as the graphics, we'll that's a little more difficult. I've been a graphic designer for almost 15 years. I have a very extensive vector art library. Just need to come up with an idea and then start experimenting. The more you do it, the more you'll get an eye for it and it'll get easier. As far as the process goes, I generally start out in photoshop with a large image size (at least 600dpi) and create the general image I want in .png format. I'll then import that into Inkscape and then convert it to vector format. I'll then insert that into Signblazer and do any clean-up of the paths and nodes that needs to be done, size it and then cut it. Biggest thing to remember is scale. You should always draw everything at some kind of scale so you know the sizing is proper when your ready to cut. Scale Vehicle templates are also a must. Thank you.

That is cut vinyl my friend. Thank you. It definitely was a process, was harder to weed than to apply though. Took about 4 hours total for two of us to completely weed the pieces.

Oracal 751 Yes, I designed it also. It was three pieces, the two sides and the tailgate.

Just finished up an install for a customer and thought it came out pretty good. Figured I'd show it off for you guys. These are custom Toyota Tacoma graphics done for a client that does custom movie prop builds.

Awesome! I knew that had to be what it was.

No worries, just thought it was funny. Odd items of interest lol...

Couldn't help but notice that you were looking at the obituaries and Indiana offender database lol....

Sounds like it's a cutter setting not a software setting IMHO.
