My initial assesment and continuing help thread
vinylmotivations replied to speleopower's topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
You have to just install it over, don't uninstall it. Also if you uninstall, you must first Deactivate. -
I think Murray Hill or Bickley Script would be an alternative- not close by any means but a useable alternative.

3.033 that comes on the disc never quite did work right with the SC. The current is 3.039. All you have to do is go to www.craftedge.com and click support, then support downloads. It will ask you for the name you used and the serial used to register. Once input youll be taken to a download selection for Windows or Mac. If you need help beyond that let me know, and I can see what else I can do for ya!

I always find some way for them to see it before it is permanent/ I know I am getting ready to lay my first wrap onto a Hyundai Santa Fe (2001) Turkey Day weekend. The design has to be nuts-on level to look right.... I will post pix when I am done, but I believe you guys are at a whole different level than my own with lettering mess like that! You definitely have my respect for field experience!

I don't see why there wouldn't be a way to pull the drivers over from one to the other....

The developer on this software works A LOT at night- gets most of the coding refined between about 9 and midnight central time. Just ironed out the final details of contour cutting with the CE5000 in both HPGL and GPGL modes tonight with them. Now to get the FC7000 working. All of this on top of the major fixes coming (eps support, ai import issues etc) as well as the advancements they are making. CRAZY STUFF. Leaps and bounds in short order. We are talking about a hobby level software going pro in very short order here.

Really depends on your cost of product as well as time installing and overhead.... -
Also the only machines that will cut directly FROM Corel X5 are the Graphtec and the Zen Green/Black series...

print+cut and laser calibration
vinylmotivations replied to blammotor's topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
SCAL Pro you go to file > Print, then make sure "Print Registration Marks" is selected... then when you go to "Print+CUT" in the cut dialog, it will guide you through aligning the marks. IF You are using SCAL Pro. -
Probably one of my more popular fonts for kids' stuffs.... I recognized it the first picture!

I am not sure I know anything about those other 2 machines. I would say the Roland would probably be a better machine than the other 2 as Roland/Graphtec are the top machines on the market IMHO. What is your budget?

http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/typeart/tipemite/oblique/ Try this one- The C is slightly different however.

You may be running into issues just with VMWare alone... cutting from a virtual machine isn't done very often if at all. I run from Windows 7 on 8.1 with good success but causes issues with production manager once in a while (using compatibility mode)--- Using the Mac alone makes it inherently fussy IMO. Also as far as softwares go- with the release of Windows 8 Microsoft is ceasing support for XP and Office 2k3 as of April 8th 2014... Any moneys spent on software that wont run on anything but XP or Vista should be strongly weighed.

Make sure when you go to your cut-screen that "Multicut" is set to OFF, and not 2 times or that you do not have a second set of lines in your artwork. Maybe post the file you're cutting?
-
You simply use a piece of wire and run it from one of the cutter's bottom screws to a screw point on the stand. You can even use a self-tapping screw into the stand. What communication type are you using? It could be serial settings or a USB cable issue...

I am sorry I had missed this post- The cutter isn't terrible- it really depends on its shape and condition. The laminator is a small 12" pouch lam and I guess would work but really can get a better one for continued use. The printer is an inkjet that would be ok for interior or very short term prints- and wouldn't work out well for long-term car decals. Corel 9 is very out of date, doubtful if not positive it isn't supported by corel anymore- and wouldn't use anything less than 13 *(X3) It really depends what the owner is asking for the package, at a $1,000 it seems a bit high unless the printer is working and prints a good head pattern then I would offer 8-900.

There have been some unpublished updates for specific machines (Zen Black and Graphtec CE Series, added FC7000(partially) to the supported list) I believe the Dev is prepping another major update.
-
You can have it activated on two machines for cutting at the same time, beyond that you can leave it deactivated for design.

I just use Oracal 751 or 951.... just depends on the customer.
