    Web sites

Wix is free to make a site and it is hosted with a www.wix.com/yourwebsitename address. Once you pay for the premium site they include a domain name registration and some other goodies. I had purchased a domain name through google before finding wix so I missed out on the free domain. I am a special kind of opsessor so is took me longer then it should have to make my site but really with Wix you could have one put together in 45 minutes or so.

What do you do when your not working?

I like to tinker with my computers, paly video games and spend time with my two todlers. Once in a blue moon I get away from the city for some fishing or even take the whole family camping. I really don't have much free time even though I haven't had a paying vinyl customer in a month. My wife got a part time job and I am in college full time. Between that and the small army I have been creating there isn't much time for play or relaxation. Don't think I have ever mentioned it on the forum but I have eight children and another due in November. As you can imagine a family of this size is pretty time consuming.

    a few misc items

Holy weeding job on the car! I really like the idea but less would be better. I think the strip just below the window would be perfect, good work!

    Web sites

If your not that web savy then I don't recommend a host like Go Daddy. Some do offer features like opencart but will still require a decent amount of time and work to get what you want working properly. I have been using wix.com for a while and like it. There are a few things I would like more control over but at the end of the day my site looks profesional and I Never have to mess with it. They have different pricing depending on if you need a shopping cart on your site, I don't have one.

well hopefully you told the customer that they have to pay the shipping. Or are you covering it because you didn't discuss the materials?

    printers are sexy

What we need to do is design our own printer, ha ha. Dakota is there any possible way to use an inkjet printer on a paper and then laminate it? could posibly use an adhesive to then attach the paper to a sign or coro. I don't need anything like this but was just wondering if it is possible? The large format inkjets are probably pretty pricey anyway, that plus the cost of paper and adhesive would most likely be about the same as vinyl anyway.

    Life hopefully getting less hectic.

The wifes bein a real hard ass about Texas. I like everything about it except the humidity. I understand why since she has a lot of friends there but still. My top 3 are Washington, West Virginia, and Texas . . .

Just looking for some criticism on my new page

I have switched to a premium vinyl for most of my work. I havn't had any bad experiences but have heard to many warnings from people with more experience then me. Shrinkage, cracking, and so on. I bought a roll of 751 but imediately after found a local supplier that sells 3M for the same price so now I'm a 3M premium cast vinyl guy.

    printers are sexy

Have you guys ever checked out http://www.alibaba.com/ ? They have printers, cutters, and all kinds of other goodies on there. Lots of Big brand names we like but I am pretty sure it's the same deal as you were talking about. Also I am pretty sure this is the source for the two main cutter websites lol

Just looking for some criticism on my new page

Looks like you have some good lettering skills. Did you do the graphics on the grey / red boat? That looks good too. I hate that I don't have more pictures of my work for people to see, keep on trucking to build your portfolio.

    printers are sexy

Can we all stand in a huddle and cry now? It chaps my hide that two of my closest competitors are set up to print and do every other service you could imagine. Trying to be competitive with that by mail with a subcontractor (Dakota) is difficult but just the fact that they can choose whatever color the customer wants and press print seems priceless to me. It never fails that I run out of or don't have the color the customer wants in stock. Whenever I think, "great, I can make a quick $100 profit on this $130 window job" then they tell you "I need it in three colors that you don't have in stock right now." Now I go and buy $140 in vinyl and end up with $10 less then when I started today LOL! I know I have more inventory now and I charge extra if it's a color I don't normally stock but man, it just always seems to work out that way. The idea of only needing white vinyl to print on seems amazing to me!

    Inkscape in Win7

No. I Run Windows 7 only with Inkscape installed. The pre-installed fonts work the same as an I have added with my setup. What is the other OS you have installed, Linux? Inkscape is available for a number of operating systems, Linux included.

    Life hopefully getting less hectic.

Well I pushed my move date back till after the fall semester (January - February). I am taking classes in my town at the junior college and have been pretty busy. My wife is now working full time and I haven't even been to my shop in a week. Now that things are settling down a bit I will get back to work and hopefully be able to pay some bills that are piling up. Any more updates on your life?

    Is this worth it?

Remind him why he is looking for a new supplier. The last guy probable isn't going to need any more clutches so I bet his price is going to go up as well. Figure out what you want at your regular price and tell him. If he bites then great, if not oh well.

    Seaworthy vinyl

Thanks guys I am gonna pick up a pen for sure. I have frog juice that I use on some things but the pen seems like a nice tool for certain situations. Any idea how much material you can seal with one pen?

plbrooks, I just watched a video on Smart Designer and it looks really easy to use. $600 is an awful lot of money for me though.

In the mood to create something simple...NOT CLEANED YET..

I was leaning towards yellow but they are both cool. Just to throw a wrench in your cereal, pink might get the attention of a few ladies. Are you going to do anything to the eyes / eyes lashes, I don't think my laser point would live through cutting those.

Security Sign WIth Real Bullet Holes

Best way to get rid of pesky door to door sales guys. 1: Open door and start coughing. 2: Apologize because you just found out you have Hepatitis and don't feel well. 3: Try to shake their hand.
