Can I do this?
sleeveofwizzard replied to xpaperman's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I wouldn't worry to much about doing a two sided sign on that post if there are no permits required. A 3 or 4 sided sign is going to be pretty heavy and complicated especially if it needs to turn with the wind. Has the customer given any hints on what their budget for this is? If they want it done as requested than you could find a local licensed contractor to build and install it and you do the sign faces. -

Have you thought about trying to repair your carriage? If it is cracked you may be able to use a two part epoxy to repair it. -

Good job man, I am tinkering with the idea of buying some buttons from you to sell myself. Have to come up with some great ideas though. -
Ha, what a funny coincidence.

When I first got started with vinyl I was very interested in doing 3D stuff like this. I didn't have any experience in vectoring so I most all my attempts were failures. I got frustrated and never really messed with it again. The hardest part for me is getting all of the image to look (correct). I cut a piece for my shop the other day and everything looked great except for one of the guns the guys were holding. I placed a different gun in the image before cutting but it doesn't look quite rite. -

WELCOME! The forum is a great resource of stored knowledge. Trouble is sometimes names and terms get mixed up, feel free to ask for help.

I think it came out very good. Did you have to match another vehicle they had or is this a new design?

There are a few different thicknesses available as well, has anyone tried using one of the thicker sizes and only folding over a short length on one end? This way you could use much less material but the thicker coro would still be strong.

Just curious how much do you sell your buttons for? -
Welcome to the forum! I like many other members think this place is great and there is a ton of knowledge spread between members every day. I do not have personal experience with the MH series or Sign Cut but there are lots of members that do. Also while you wait for other responses you can tap into the cast amount of data in previous threads. Check out the sections specific to your questions (Sign Cut, MH cutter).

Paperman, your comments seem normal to me.

Just checked Denco Sales and they don't have USPS on the list of delivery options but they do have UPS international. Don't know if that would work.

Whats your music are you stuck on listening to?
sleeveofwizzard replied to MadHatterGraphix's topic in Off Topic Section
I have been listening to a lot of Talking Heads lately . . . yeah -
Looks great but make sure to make a proof shirt before you churn out a bunch of them. I did a shirt for myself a while back that had a similar font (outline / shadow) and it was really hard to read on the shirt but looked good on my computer screen.

I feel your pain man, had a few days this month that I didn't get much of any sleep and still was an hour past the deadline. You will make it, just keep on trucking. -
I can read about how to do something all day long and not absorb as much info as watching a 1 minute video on it. Mark me down as a visual leaner.

fonts downloaded from dafont
sleeveofwizzard replied to parabellum1130's topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
Not familiar with SCALP but have you installed the fonts you downloaded? After you download a font you will need to unzip the contents. Once unzipped you can review the license if included. Right click on the font file then select install. -
Sweet deal landing corporate decal contracts when your new to the vinyl business. Dakotagrafx is set up to print and contour cut which a lot of the high end stuff will need to be. I have had him print for me and recommend his services.

I'd love to have a tank-less water heater, I'm going to check them out. I have to do everything I can to save money with my many children.

I get excited when new materials come in. Especially if it is a new product that I haven't carried before. Last new thing I got was 3M 7725 Scotchcal ElectroCut Graphic Film Series with a synthetic liner. Very exciting to try something different and glad I did, the plastic liner is really cool. -
In a quandary

A month is a good amount of time, why not make the leap to buy screen printing equipment? If you get the go ahead from them and secure a deposit you might have most of the money for what you need. The screen print guys on here would know better then me but couldn't you get a basic setup to do two colors without breaking the bank? Of course you would need to order the stuff the moment you get the deposit so you will have enough time to practice and figure everything out. -
Awesome! Yeah I just don't want to throw myself under the bus by giving a set price for something that could be a nightmare.
