Cutter dragging blade along reposition of blade

I was trying to reroll by hand. Using bigger cores will probably be the fix. my “business” is extremely small and just a side gig. This is just play money for me. I do not do enough business to justify trying to store large rolls. I only buy like 15yd rolls of black and white and other colors I buy 5-10’ at a shot depending on what I think I may need.

Cutter dragging blade along reposition of blade

So I confirmed today this is exactly what it is. I got a fresh new roll that was tightly rolled and it did this same exact thing. So I tried to cut a piece off and roll the other way to let it sit and it just creases up the vinyl. Is there any way to alleviate this to avoid this? I may start putting the fresh rolls I get in on larger diameter rolls going forward. When I get smaller rolls from Amazon they really roll these super tight creating a tight radius. I know when I bought smaller rolls from like 651 vinyl, they were always more loosely rolled and never noticed this before.

Cutter dragging blade along reposition of blade

Thanks. I’ll try that as that seems like it could be the case. I would have thought though since the blade is close to the rollers that would not be enough space to arc up, but not that I think about it, that couple inches could certainly be the case. I appreciate the advice!

Cutter dragging blade along reposition of blade

Barely sticking out. It just cuts the vinyl and leaves no mark on the wax paper. good question on the vinyl laying flat. This vinyl was not on a roll and was wavy. Pretty sure I have seen this on flat vinyl that comes off a roll as well, but good question. could it maybe be arched up and causing this? The blade is inline with the rollers though, so I would think that wouldn’t matter much if it wasn’t flat?

Sure fire way to remove HTV glue residue to start over?

Thanks guys. I ended up having to toss the hoody and refunding the customer since I cannot find another hoody. I am glad I asked before messing with more expensive chemicals. the googone left stains on the shirt too, so Deff don’t use that like google says to. Lol
  6. Not sure if this is my cutter, or other, but I have been noticing my blade somehow getting lazy and creating scratches in my vinyl. I look at the PLT file and can confirm it is on the areas the blade moves past to position for its next cut. attached is a test piece I tried to show the issue. I am scared to do big jobs until I get this rectified. Any ideas what is causing this? blade is adjusted properly, and I watch the carriage fully lift when I watch it and can hear it slap down. cutter is a Prismcut, software is Vinylmaster. Both Vinylmaster and US Cutter has been useless for assistance.
  7. What is the secret to getting HTV glue residue off? I tried the iron to get the HTV off, but leaves the glue residue that does not come off. I tried goo gone to zero success! As products are becoming scarce and trying to meet Xmas deadline, I am now at a standstill. I saw some stuff on Amazon that supposedly works, but it costs more than double what a replacement hoody cost to find out it doesn’t work here is what the residue still looks like after dousing in goo gone and wishing

    P28 PrismCut Laser Tool

Likely a liability thing with laser as mentioned above. SkyCut is the manufacturer or atleast the mode this was based off of. You can try them. China gives 0 F's on what they sell and to whom and care not about liability.

Shelf life of wall decals with application tape applied?

i have designs sitting around for like 2 years and the app tape is fine. I try to avoid making work ahead of time, or without being paid for first to avoid stuff sitting around though. I cut per order since I do it on the side

Removable vinyls for use on Computers

all of it is removable. I use 651 and have sold to plenty people that put on laptops with no complaints. Do not use that on drywall though, it wont end well. As said above, you need something lighter tack for drywall.

    Trouble with contour cutting

Yea, I didnt touch anything with calibration. Are you using any kind of offset on the image for cutting? Or cutting straight up to the image when you did the contour cut? I have found when the head wanders off and beeps and goes red, it has to do with being outside the cuttable area. I think it was placement at the far left when it happened to me. If you get too close to the ends depending on the placement of your cut, the head will notice it cannot go to that edge and error out. I could be completely wrong, but I have had that happen already with regular cutting

    First Cut

I believe I showed this already on one of my Prismcut videos. It is just using common mechanics really. put the rollers on and see which one is binding. If the outmost roller, put the roller in the next slots and just bend the ends in or out just a smidge and retry the roller until its right. You want the roller in the next slot to avoid bending the entire bracket and throwing the rear one out If the innermost roller, take both out and bend the entire bracket in or out a smidge and retry until it rolls fine. I will agree that support is honestly completely useless. Once I finally got someone in support to call me, he seemed to know absolutely nothing and guessed all basic level things. If I had known the support was this poor from US Cutter, I would have bought elsewhere. Their lifetime support if bought from them appealed to me, but now I see how their support is, it is weak! They can only use covid as a crutch for so much. Dont even get me started on Vinylmaster support.
  13. I am posting this due to a request from a viewer on how to do contour cutting with the Prismcut and Vinylmaster. I did not research before hand and just did this off the cuft to see if I could figure it out with good results to make it as real world as possible. I hope you guys find this useful. https://youtu.be/QuhW05U4JBU

First impressions of the Prismcut P28

I am actually uploading a video right now on the contour cutting. Someone on Youtube asked me about this, just don't remember who. Stay tuned as that will be up within an hour or so

this machine is plenty capable. I really feel like most of my issues are software related. Here and there I will see some scratching on my vinyl, but again I cannot say for certain what causes it. Otherwise, I have been cutting a ton on this and learning more and more each time.
