I just got vm pro v4 and love it, you don't need corel draw vm v4 will do anything corel draw will do and I think the vectoring process is way more cut friendly than using corel.Bottom line is vm pro in imho is sweet sotware.

....Dude, I'll cut anything you like for your birthday and this was what he came up with. I'm like Dude, really and then he xplained to me it was a play on both King ranch and the old pony found on some Fords back in his day. Even I'll admit this cut so much cleaner on the CE5000 when compared to the CP2400.

Hello again, boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, madams and monsieurs ---- I promised to provide an inside look at the Mobile Sign Shop that I'm putting on the road. It begins with a 1977 Motorhome (Dodge Georgie Boy Cruise Aire) that has a lot of inside space. Most RV's have a bed that occupies the rear, but this one was designed instead with a seating area and large table, which is ideal for weeding & taping. The entranceway leads into a nice salon, perfect for sitting at the small round desk and doing design work on a laptop. There is a nice stereo system and airconditioner (runs off a generator). The kitchen area accommodates the MH mini cutter. The exterior is going to get a new paint job, and some custom graphics. That's my next project. Comments? Suggestions? Questions?

I finally had some time so I thought I would do a couple of pieces for family. My niece just had a baby so the mother and child was for her and the other is for my sister in law>

Angie, Time to do some homework. Raster files are pictures with thousands of little pixels, each one colored. Vector files are just a bunch of lines and curves with filled in colors, much more simple and something a cutter can reproduce. Do some google searching and you can learn a lot. Also searching on the forum will help.

Of the software I have (and use), Illustrator is the most burdensome to create this in. Mainly because of familiarity... I chiefly use Inkscape and VinylMaster for this type of work. Nevertheless, here it is, created in Illustrator with a similar font. BurdensGrenade_04c.ai BurdensGrenade_04c.svg Additionally, I agree with the others... flip and center the "Training" and shrink the catch phrase "cede nullis" inside the inner circle.

Trouble is although you don't something you did a photo or image will usually find it's way to the internet via someone else that does ...

Wikipedia is often times a good source of SVG files - like this one - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergeant_major#mediaviewer/File:Army-USA-OR-09b.svg

Agreed, the pentagram is not an ideal symbol to feature. Unless maybe the owners are wiccans. This is 2014, and auto repair is as much about computer diagnostics as it's about wrenching. Maybe Shaw Senior remembers the 'grease monkey' days of yesteryear, but modern automotive shops have a different standard. If his Sons still want to feature a wrench, at least make it appear slick.

Too satanic... maybe shape a wrench into a car or the Initials "S&S" ? At least something more to do with the service offered.

I screwed up a contour file and they emailed me on a Sunday and when I called I got a human being. How cool is that.

In SCALP3 the library files have the extension "scal". The tutorial for Lib It Up, however, shows the extension as "lcut2". I've tried both extensions and neither works. Is there a correct tutorial that shows how to add shapes to the shapes library?

Just a side-note, when using a script font like that, make sure you apply WELD, because otherwise the overlapping letters will cut into each other.

Edge lighting like Rlvied has. Inexpensive LED's can be bought and put into bases.

You can use any vinyl that's made for waterbased ink. I believe all Oracal are solvent ink only. MACtac, Avery, and HP all make vinyl with coating for pigment or dye ink. Many members on this forum use the MACtac and just cut down to size. Frog juice or any other laminate would add UV and water resistance to the ink.
