  2. I switched over to windows last year...
  3. I just don’t want to have to run over to the computer between cuts. My this material is custom and not really what our cutters were made for (equipment upgrades are being decided right now), and it will not track straight off the roll. I trust it for about 3ft then I need to cut and make sure the material is still tracking/adjust if needed. If it were just a few then I’d be ok with just hitting send again but this is 2000 unit’s every couple weeks. I’m wondering also about the pause between cuts... btw, it is amazing what a good plotter can do when you think it through! My next machine looks to be a roll feed rotary die cutter...just having a hard time pulling the $45,000 trigger

    My subs almost up !

I've had Inkscape a lot longer on any of my machines than AI or CorelDraw. Admittedly I really only use it for vectorizing my raster images, but I do like the layout an what looks to be a very easy interface. I've recently had to revisit CorelDraw in depth. The last time I used it, I believe it was like on version 2 or 3. Anyway, I've had AI only all my machines a lot longer than CorelDraw, but can honestly say that I have an easier time navigating CorelDraw than I do AI. Definitely take a look at Inkscape, because you can't beat that price, but don't close the door on CorelDraw if you the router of building a PC.
  6. My Graphtec never goes back to the point of origin after cutting a job But when I have large quantity jobs, I usually do a single layout that is a manageable size for me to weed and tape, and then send the job repeatedly to the cutter. That also help me to keep track of how many I actually completed, since I keep a little post-it with hash marks each time I send the job . It all comes down to personal preference, so workarounds when necessary.
  7. If he was running on Windows, he could do it very easily right from the Graphtec Cutting Controller. That option is not available for a Mac. Maybe I am missing something, but why doesn't he just send the same order again? No repeat or copy, just send. It will be the same order from the software. Maybe I am not thinking right of what he is wanting. I ran 9 different orders 1 day, and never got out of my chair, All from the Graphtec Cutting Controller. It's so easy. I would think about getting a cheap Windows computer. My 2c. Or run it on Bootcamp, or whatever you can do on Mac.
  8. Not a Graphtec user here, but sounds like he's wanting to hit a button on the machine itself. So unless there is a setting in the machine itself not to return to home after a job I suspect using the copy button on the machine will not work the way you want. In the software, does the cut screen stay up? Could you just hit cut again or something on the computer? That's how I do it with VM.

Depending on what all you're doing, Inkscape might be an option to look at. It is free and extremely powerful. I think I've seen on here mention where it is closer to corel than AI in learning how todo stuff, so will probably be a pretty good learning curve as well, but it's hard to beat the price. Inkscape also works well on WIndows(hate the term PC, all computers are PCs unless they are a mainframe), Mac, and Linux.

  12. Ok thanks and Yeah I am going to be investing in a heat press. So would you say neenah make the best quality heat transfer paper?
  13. Not familiar with that brand of transfer. It is possible that it's a little thin and doesn't get good coverage on darks. Commercial grade transfers do exist. For dark transfers I usually recommend Neenah 3G Jet Opaque and for white shirts Jet Pro Soft Stretch (JPSS). If you intend to do shirts to sell (or even a lot for how use)I would recommend investing in a heat press. There is no comparison between a bonafide heat press and trying to get consistency with a hand iron. I know that several transfers and even some cut vinyl are advertised to be able to hand iron but the difference is the applied product and it's subsequent lifespan is remarkable.
  14. What if you use the repeat job instead of copy?
  15. I use that all the time but it doesn't work with the "copy" option
  16. Sorry for the long reply I was using a home iron if that has anything to do with it and parchment paper to cover the heat transfer. The hoodie I put the design on is 80 cotton and 20 polyester if that helps. The design was fine before I heat pressed it but as soon as I peeled the parchment paper the black dots were there. Hope this is enough info to help.
  17. Usually in the cutting software. What are you using?
  18. Hey y'all, I'm running a lot of one design and I'd like to just keep trimming one off and using the copy button on my fc8000. the problem is that after a copy is cut, then it goes back to the front of the design. where is the setting for post copy advancement?

    Font Identification please

Anyone seen this one before? Not having much luck with the resources I know of. Thank you!
  21. This is the not the same file that you originally posted about, so I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking for, but the file looks fine to me. What issues are you running into?
  22. What's the firmware version of the machine, the software version of the GStudio that you're using, and OSX version?
  23. thanks. UPDATE: if i reduce the size to 24x20.5 and set the non printable area to -.30" at all sides (within the page setup screen), it will not have shifts in the print. not sure how i can correct this so i can print any size. I would prefer to print a longer area at a time but this is the work around for the time being. I'm assuming this is a problem within graphtec studio software (for mac osx). I just wish I could figure this becoming a thorn in my butt.

From what I read you need a plug in to do that. Go to the Summa web site and download it. mark-s
