SCAL Pro 4 Laserpoint II Cutter not recognized

I don't have any extra of the null modem cables or the adapter. I'm working on getting those. When I do it with a USB cable it recognizes the machine and everything, but it only cuts about 6 inches and then freezes every time.

I am using a mac. Does that make a difference? This was what was suggested to me in order to make the machine work with a mac... I wish I knew...

Ok, thanks for your help. I truly appreciate it. I'll try purchasing another one and talking to the company. So frustrating!!

SCAL Pro 4 Laserpoint II Cutter not recognized

My computer doesn't have one I am using adapters. So my usb cable has the printer end on one side that connects to my keyspan adapter and then I bought a male and female cord that goes into my machine. My machine only has one of those ports. I have two USB ports and I tried both of them.

Key Span Serial Assistant is the only new icon I see on my launchpad. Open that?

How do I do that? I installed the drivers and everything that came with it. The green light on it lights up when everything is plugged in.
  8. I've been having issuers with my Laserpoint II stopping in the middle. I grounded the machine and purchased a key span adapter and a cable to make it connect to my computer like suggested, but I can't get SCAL to recognize it. When I try to cut it says cutting machine not found and has some troubleshooting tips (which I have tried). I have a Macbook Pro version 10.11.1. Any suggestions?
  9. I figured out how to ground it and I believe I got the correct cables to connect it all. Now my software SCUT4 Pro won't recognize the machine. It's like it's not connected. Any ideas what to do now?
  10. Thank you so much for your help. I have a jumper wire that has small clips at the end, will this do the same thing without having to screw the wire anywhere? or do I still loosen screws on the bottom of the machine and stick it up in there?
  11. Is this the other piece I need? http://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Modem-Serial-P450-006/dp/B000067SCH/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448317344&sr=8-1&keywords=null+modem+serial+cable
  12. Thank you. I have a keyspan adapter I guess. It looks just like that, I just don't have the other part. How do I know if it's grounded or not and how do I fix that? Mine is on a stand on hardwood flooring. It's not on carpet.
  13. I've only had my machine a short while, but it's had this problem off and on since the beginning. It starts to cut and either never starts cutting or it starts cutting and stops in the middle and never finishes. Is there a list of troubleshooting problems I can go through to try and figure out what's wrong? I am using it with SCAL4pro and I have a Mac 10.11.1 Also I saw someone mentioned a keyspan adapter in a previous post. Does anyone have a link to an exact one that would work? I bought one but it won't plug into the machine, so I'm not sure what I'm actually supposed to get. Thanks for any insight.
