    My first for pay job

She gave me a jpeg for a logo, I had use photoshop to separate all the letters then fill in the green behind the letters to make the floral design, then vectorize the separate images. The green floral is exactly as it was given to me even with the odd shaped diamond on the bottom. here's the logo vectorized and approved for cutting: Here's the Decals, I backlit the design and added alignment assist marks for easily lining it up during application. http://imgur.com/U3Rn2.jpg[/img] Here are some other decal designs I've been making for people: Logo for a gamer Decal for a guy who loves Bansky http://imgur.com/jNo4f.png[/img] Another Decal for the bansky guy (but it's not a bansky piece) http://imgur.com/fR9Bc.png[/img]

    My first design cut

Never had a cutter before but I worked in a signshop Bought an MH1101 off a guy on craigslist on Sunday, today i finally got it working on my Win 7 64 bit ultimate box using a the keyspan serial <-> USB adapter. Here's my first design cut (I of course layed the eyes) Behold the Reddit.com Alien! Used Flexi with the UScutter driver pack to vectorize and cut it. After trying Signblazer, Signcut x2 and flexi, I'm sticking with flexi
  3. Found a local place here in Dallas (All-Tex electronics by the Addison Airport) that sold the Keyspan serial adapter ... so I grabbed one and now my cutter works. It's 10+ bucks more than places online, but it's the price you pay for instant gratification. Example of it working:
  4. I made a video of my issues, take a look, (watch in 720p to see the words on the screen) and let me know what I'm doing right/wrong. Thanks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBA_uSyEl9s

    USCutter compatability?

  6. Will the Belkin one work? Here, which one of these usb to serial adapters will work? http://www.frys.com/search?search_type=regular&sqxts=1&query_string=usb+serial&submit.x=0&submit.y=0&cat=0
  7. sigh.... so what I bought was useless.... Are there any serial to USB adapters sold @ fry's or Microcenter that work well? I'd rather not wait another week waiting for the fedex guy to get started
  8. I just bought a 40" Refine MH1101 cutter, from its original owner purchased back in 2005, he used it maybe 10 times. I have an Intel Core i7 920 system, 6gb ddr3 ram, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. My mother board has no Serial or Parallel ports so I went and bought this (http://inlandproduct.com/prousb-parallelconverterieee1to1-08305.aspx) "Pro Usb-Parallel Converter." I haven't the slightest how to get Windows, signblazer, inkscape, or Artcut to recognize or install the cutter drivers. It shows up as "IEEE-1284 Controller" under (Devices and Printers). Also under "Programs and Features" there are 2 listed drivers called: "Windows Driver Package - FTDI CDM Driver Package (10/22/2009 2.06.00)" if that helps Heck, even signblazer didn't have the MH1101 listed as one of the cutters during installation, just the other 3 MH series ones. Any help to get this thing to show up and cutting on my windows 7 box would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, OZ

    USCutter compatability?

Just Bought a Refine MH1101 40" cutter, and a parallel to USB adapter, I'm running windows 7, I downloaded signblazer and went to install it but it doesn't show my cutter as one of the options, it only shows the MH365, MH721, and MH1351, is there no way to get my cutter to work with sign blazer?

    Hello to you all :)

It's only 250 bucks for the cutter/stand and several rolls of vinyl

    Hello to you all :)

Hello, I'm OZ, tomorrow I am purchasing a 40" Refine MH-1101 from a gentleman on craigslist. I haven't seen it in person but he says it's in excellent shape. I look forward to learning as much as I can from you guys as I get used to using this cutter.
