Have you tried converting everything to paths before saving as EPS? Highlight and go to Path>Object to path. It could help.

I am still very green with Illy and on further scratching around I found a vortex in the Illy symbols (retro I think) which worked perfectly. Thanks guys for all your help and advice. This is the the shirt design I needed it for

Unfortunately I don't have sign blazer, but thanks for trying to help.

Very briefly 1. Right click selection, duplicate and separate 2. Pick one, Path<outset(and again until desire width) change colour 3 Realign with other layer on top, group if needed Have a bit of a search around this section of the forum because I'm pretty sure it has been covered before and possibly in more detail. I have both Illustrator and Inkscape, I work in both depending on what it is I'm doing, somethings are easier in Inkscape some are better in Illy. I do all my tracing in Inkscape, nodes are bigger, easier to see and manipulate, once done I move whatever I'm working on into Illy. But I prefer working with gradients in Illy, way easier. Each to there own I guess. Have fun!

I haven't been working with illy all that long and I've managed to muddle my way through so far, but this one's got me stumped. Does anyone know how to create a vortex/jagged circle type shape. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I have drawn a box and fill it with a standard checkered pattern from the fill/pattern list. tThe checkers are really small and I want to make them bigger. I understand there is supposed to be an adjustment node somewhere around my box, but blowed if I can find it. Anyone got any ideas as to where my pattern adjustment node might have got to? Or how I can put one there? Cheers for any advice.

Come on...spill the beans. ......Please.

I use flexistarter which I find is not real good for editing. If I have and EPS I want to make big changes to I make it a decent size and then copy and paste it into Paint, save it as a bitmap, import it into inkscape and then revectorise it. Kind long way around but it works for me. Good for stuff that's not too complex.

Very cool! My kids race quarter midgets too! (In Australia though) My son has just bought a new matt black helmet the customise for himself. Obviously great minds think alike. Great job.

I peel the backing paper completely off the top layer and replace with silicon baking parchment (from the kitchen draw) which is non stick and see through so I can line up the whole graphic not just the registration marks. Just another idea

My son wants one to stick on the bottom of his race car that says...Hi Mum!...personally I don't think it's very funny, but he thinks it's hilarious. Last thing I want to see is him on his lid...

The administrator of a forum I was once a member of, regularly deleted every membership that had not posted, genuine or not. Caused a bit of hassle initially but had the desired affect. Zero posters disappeared, and members soon learnt to participate if they wanted to keep there membership.

I take the backing paper right of the top layer and replace it with silicon (cookie baking)paper which is see through. I still use registration marks for reference as well, but I don't need a light box and I can still work at my table. Cheers

ink and printer questions for heat transfer
smee replied to mcpreacher's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
Hi guys, I'm just join this thread because I am thinking of doing exactly the same thing. I have a few questions too. Will the white part of a design print on to a dark shirt? What would be a good design programme to use? I use inkscape at the moment, but is there something that would be better for tshirt/photo transfers? And finally when you cut out around the transfers you you do it by hand or contour cut? So many questions...sorry...but I gotta find out somehow. -
As long a s the customer is happy, that's all that matters. I love the deep shadow font.
