    using workspace as sign size

    Hey, Thanks for the help. The reason I would like the workspace to be the sign size is that I am sandblasting letters and numbers in stone so the rubber protects the rest of the stone from the blasting. If I know my sign is 12x24 with text somewhere in that space It would be nice to set up the workspace to 18x24 put my text where I want. Then have it cut the workspace dimensions as the outside cut. I know you can get it to print. I will try the square idea again but just thought it could save me a step. So nice to just make the workspace my sign size. Your input is appreciated.and always helpful Jim

    using workspace as sign size

    Copam 2500 cutting 22mil rubber stencil. Is there a way to get signblazer to simply use the workspace dimensions as the sign size and make those dimensions the outside cut? Most of my signs are rectangular or square and for layout having the workspace actually be my sign size and cut size would be incredibly helpful. I tried borders, they cut wacky,and tried to use the square tool and punch through but all seem to have glitches. Can it be done? thanks ahead Jim

    how to cut outside dimensions of sign

    Cutting rubber with the copam 2500 to blast house numbers and I setup the workspace to the outside dimensions of the piece to be blasted thinking this would be a cutline so I can cover the stone in one piece of rubber, peel out the letters and blast. When I go to cutter it cuts close to the letters and I have to piece together the surrounding exposed stone. How do I make an outside cutline to the full sign dimension, sometimes just a rectangle and sometimes an arched top ? I have used the border tool but that cuts two lines,wastes blade and dosent arc. Thanks for this great forum Jim

    not cutting letter centers

    I have cleaned up and vectorized, using vectormagic, handdrawn type for a memorial stone to be sandblasted. am able to import it as eps and it looks great until I send it to cutter . the image then blacks out all the letter centers like in an O or a P and when I cut (ink paper) it does not recognize the O needs two cuts, it only cut the outside (all letters with a center) any ideas Thanks Jim

    cutting resist to full sign size

    Hey guys, I have the copam 2500 purchased through us cutter a couple years ago and am trying to cut resist material at full sign size for lettering on stone , usually around 12 x 18 inches or smaller and unlike vinyl where you want to save as much material as possible, I want the cut border the full sign size so I can just use the mask as one piece. So when I make my sign size 12x18 when I go to the cutter screen it makes it cropped close to the lettering obviously to save material. How do I get the cut to be the outside border of the sign for use with resist? Thanks Jim

    cleaning up small spots

    Hey guys, I have a couple small spots on my graphics , about 1/16 x1/16 inches, that are cutting ( of course) , basically just ripping up the vinyl in that spot, is there any way to isolate them and delete them in SB once it is vectorized etc and ready to cut? or do I have to rasterize it and take it back to my PS I looked in help etc but nothing I saw. It would be nice if there is a feature that allows you to freehand draw around an object and delete it this must happen quite a bit Thanks JIM

    marine plywood or signbourd

    I am getting ready to put a lawn sign together for a contractor friend of mine (24x36 steel frame) and wondered what is recommended as a good substrate. I would rather use a thicker material than aluminum and also want to paint a background color so what is suggested. Do I use marine plywood at 3/4 thick or a type of sign board and what would be the best type. also for the paint to use to color the background ? just regular house paint or is there a better alternative? thanks Jim I just set up my copam 2400 and am ready to cut , successful on paper thanks for the advice

    Vibration in cutter

    Thanks guys, It seems to be cutting (in pen ) beautifully For some reason it is not as bad today, I will use it to cut the sign in vinyl tomorrow and let you know Thanks Jim PS I really appreciate this forum and am so glad I bought the cutter from USCutter I will recommend this store and community to everyone I know in the business. You are doing it right
  13. Hey guys, Finally got my first sign ready, was able to vectorize the bitmap and separate ready to cut . Decided to try it on paper first and it all went well was able to draw both text and artwork but am a little worried that there is too much vibration coming from the cutter head itself. As it was drawing the black box attached to the blade holder seemed to have excess vibration. It is loud and when you touch the black box it feels like its going to break, or at least not last very long. You can even feel it on the belt. Should there be this vibration? Doesnt seem right to me as a mechanic. It even does it with nothing in the holder I'm afraid to use it this way Thanks JIM

    importing to signblazer

    I have been working all day in adobe photo deluxe illustrating a stone wall to be used in a vinyl sign for my stone masonry company ( never needed a lawn sign in 25 yrs but things are getting slow and scary with a daughter at nyu and a mortgage etc etc) I have read the 243 pages on the disc and am trying to import a graphic file to be used on the sign. The text I will do in SB I thought adobe photo deluxe would work because you can save the file as eps Is there more than one way to import? I trid saving it in my doc , my music folder and can open it with photo deluxe but when I try to open it in SB it says file cannot be found. Should I try to save it to disc or cut and paste or is 8 hrs of work unusable ps I tried to scan it in but the image quality is very poor by the time I enlarge it from 8x10 to 18x24 I will not give up but could use some advice from an expert thanks JIM
