  1. We tried so many things that right now I can't remember why it didn't worked. It was a month ago. Now, none of our computers has a serial port. My only option is USB (I give up) and as a printer but it ask for paper. What can I do?
  2. How do I do to make it think it has been paper feeded? Any idea? Installing it as a printer in a LPT port has been the only way the pc recognize the plotter. MH 1351 Refine Date of purchase about August 2008 (was working few, esporadically about a year untill now that I need to use it again. I changed my old computer) Parallel port SignBlazer Windows 7 vinyl I tried it all before, USB (always say USB device malfunction, error 43) and COM and there was no way. I tried in two computers, one with Vista and one with Windows 7. No way. As printer is the way it is recogniced. Any help is welcome
  3. I have to make some tryes with the Refine. Let see how long the cutting stripe resist. I have found a machine that can do the cut but it seems to have not rollers. The rollers of the Refine and this electric trimmer together is what I need. I can't believe there is not a simple machine to cut stripes.. I have searched a web for american users just in case someone is interested: http://www.thefind.com/search?query=electric+rotary+trimmer#page=3&local=0
  4. Guau! You have discovered to me a lot of things about the plotter. I didn't know about the magnets in the pinchs as signal for the cutter head. I see it is a real headache what I want to with the inapropiate machine. The computer is not a problem here, the problem is that there is no way to cut the stripe complete to the end, with or without computer. I really appreciate your help. I'm looking some other possibilities and I let you know what I find
  5. Thanks for reply again, Howard. What I really need is what Mike says: As you say, the Copam can do only the cut from pinch to pinch, so is not what I need. The rolls wide measure is 120 cm (about 48"), so the Robo is excluded. Thanks for the link Mike, but to do that job manually, suposse too many time. I guess there are some kinda of plotter that can do that but more than posible it costs some good moneis Thank you very much anyway.

Looking for a machine with this features

Thanks crshirts, but it is not a slitter what I need. As far as I know, the slitter cuts the stripes vertically for rewind it in a roll wich is nice for other purposes. What I need is to cut stripes from left to right (or viceversa) let them fall one over another till the roll ends and get the block of stripes and pack it. I heard and read that there are some cutters that can cut straight offline materials without back nor mat. Unfortunately, my Refine can't do that I would like to know what plotter can do it. That could be a nice solution for me.
  11. Hi! I need to cut a thin plastic roll in stripes, all them of 2,54 cm measure (1 inch) from side to side, border to border. Would be helpful if the machine had a counter to move only 1 inch of material in every cut. This operation and the cut has to be done manually, offline without computer and withoutback support or mat. That possible? Some cutter can do that? That is what I want to buy. As English is not obviously my mother tonge, I hope you get the idea of what I need. Thank very much! Kittycut

    Calibrate cutter

Hi, I'm cutting somethings and it works fine excep the size that its cuts bigger than it really is. I checked if everything is setted in milimeters (the unit measure I use), if it is at 100%, etc. I try to calibrate the cutter and it is supposed to cut a 300x300 square. When I press "cut measure square" it only do the path as if it was cutting but it don't. Why the head don't go down and cut the square? Shoud I do something else? Thanks in advance! Kittycut
  14. Thanks. First I will try to do the job as I can.
  15. Well, no way to install it through UBS. I borrowed a computer with com port and it works but the trouble is not solved. I gues I will try to sell it and forget it forever (what I really want to do is burn it on fire). How many time losted... One more thing, SignBlazer is unable to run with the cutter, always errors of any type. No problem with SignCut X2 trial.
