    Oops, I broke it again.

Since I haven't had any replies, I will note what I have found. I have had three separate issues with Signcut in the last two weeks. The one listed here, the preview wouldn't work a couple of weeks back, and it wouldn't display fill last week. All of these issues were resolved by resetting the settings. Apparently the settings file keeps getting corrupted. I wonder what is going on. Any ideas? :-

    Oops, I broke it again.

I can't seem to stop breaking Signcut Productivity Pro. It's so fragile, you know. This time, the optimize to color switch is broken. If I bring a multi color Drawing into Signcut and select one color for cutting, it won't resize the drawing for that color with either the F8 key or the optimize button (top right). The button pushes in, the screen flashes, and nothing happens. Online support said to uninstall/reinstall Signcut, but that didn't work. I'm beginning to think that Productivity Pro is simply not ready for Prime Time. Has anybody got a solution?

    Toolbar Gone Wild

Small Issue with the Main Toolbar in Prod Pro. While I was hustling through a job, I accidently dragged the toolbar away from the left side of the screen, dropping it onto the page. I tried to put it back on the left side, but alas, to no avail. I can drag it, but it refuses to "park" back where it was. It just sits over my drawing window. This is probably an embarrassingly easy fix, like some hot key combo, but I can't find any info in the help menu.

dragging object creates multiple copies HELP!!!!!

I've had this happen a couple of times. Once it was related to an errant temp file. Corel doesn't always clean up after itself. With Corel closed, go to your Local temp file directory and your Windows temp file directory and delete everything in them. It's not a bad idea to do that on a regular basis anyway. If that doesn't work, you may have a corrupt workspace. Try starting a new workspace with a unique name. Good Luck Oh yeah, one other thing. You wouldn't happen to be pressing the spacebar while you drag. That will do it too.

HELP! Program stops 1/2 way through processing!

Don't know if you got this problem resolved. I had the same issue, and the solution for me was the settings on the printer port. If you are using the parallel port for output, make sure it is set to ECP in the bios. That worked for me.

Tried Corel x4, Now signcut won't import.

Just as a follow-up, I was able to resolve the problem with files not transferring to Corel & Sign-It not working. As Kimon & Edge suggested, it was as simple as a reinstall of Corel X3. Well, not a complete uninstall/reinstall of Corel, but actually a Repair. When you go to uninstall Corel it gives you the option to Repair. Did it, fixed it. Thanks Edge. Thanks Kimon. I am going to try ProdPro again.

Tried Corel x4, Now signcut won't import.

I have not un/reinstalled Corel x3. Didn't want to go to that trouble if it wasn't necessary. Signcut x2 will launch from the application launcher in Corel, but it won't import my selection from Corel. I can however use Signcut as a stand alone program by exporting from Corel and opening from Signcut. It is the application launcher add on that isn't working. Just found another Issue. When I try to launch SignIt-X2 From Corel Application Launcher, It gives me the following error message: Type Mismatch Kimon, I tried Signcut Productivity Pro last Jan/Feb. It was a few days after they made it available. It was so buggy that I had to uninstall it. I emailed Per Johanson about the problems, but got no reply. Below is the email that I sent to Per. Have they resolved the initial issues with Prod. Pro? Per, I downloaded and installed Signcut Productivity Pro. I like the new interface, however it still does not stop the plot after the cut, but instead returns to origin first. Please note the following other problems. 1. When I selected a weed border, it cut right through edge of the copy instead of around it. (About 1/8") 2. There is no provision for extra precision when cutting small copy. Small copy had obvious spurs on some corners where the blade ran too long before turning. 3. When cutting small copy, the overlap was imprecise. It left little slivers of vinyl hanging on to the edge of the letters. 4. Sometimes it would not bring a file over from Corel. I had to break all objects apart before sending to Prod. Pro. 5. It double cut some copy, causing it to cut right through the backing. I made sure that there was no outline or double overlay. The same copy cut just fine with X2. It was these problems that made it necessary to remove Productivity Pro and reinstall X2. Just thought you would want to know. Thanks Per, Gary B Plimpton gary@graphixwiz.com
  8. I am currently using Corel X3. A few days ago I downloaded the trial of Corel X4. I was dissappointed to find it still too buggy.(But that is for another discussion) After I removed X4 from my system I immediately started having trouble with "Send To Signcut X2" from the application launcher. It starts Signcut, but with the splash screen(default Signcut X2 file) instead of the image I was sending. I assume that this problem is a result of installing & uninstalling X4, since I did not have any problems before. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Signcut, but that did not solve the problem. I can still save a file from Corel in .ai and then open it from Signcut, but that is not nearly as productive.

    Double cutting

It is because you have an outline on the objects you are trying to cut. Before exporting the file, select the object and right click the x on the color pallette to select "no outline".

    weeding frame question

I had the same problem after upgrading to the latest version of Signcut. Cick on the "Tiles" button and check the "Weeding Frame" box. Set the max weeding frame to 0.0500 Now it should show up properly in the cut menu.
  11. I just thought of an even easier workaround. Funny how the simple things don't come to you right away, but when you're working with half a brain as I am, thats just life. Anyway, here it is. Do this procedure before loading vinyl into the machine. When you first turn your machine on, slide the outside pinch rollers as far as they will go on each end of the machine and select scroll. This sets the width to its widest setting, allowing you to set the x axis anywhere you want. Next scroll the y axis forward to about +300 (More if you need it). Press and hold enter to reset the origin. Thats it. Now you can load the vinyl. This setup procedure allows you to pull enough vinyl in to measure it against the guides, and still roll it back to set the origin where you want it. ***** Hello, is anybody out there? *****
  12. It's pretty simple, really. You just have to work around the limits of the plotter. Here's how. 1. After you turn on the plotter but before you put any vinyl in it, slide the two outside pinch rollers to each side of the plotter as far as they will go on each end. (Don't go past the end of the rollers) 2. Select "scroll" and allow the plotter to measure the width of its bed, still with no vinyl. 3. Now place your vinyl where you want it to feed from, just make sure you fully cover the cutting strip. Don't worry about aligning the vinyl yet, just get it close to being straight. You may wish to reverse curl the vinyl edge before you feed it in, so that it doesn't catch on the little trough. Remember that when you use this method, you have disabled your stops that keep the cutter from cutting past the edge of your vinyl, so make sure by taking a measurement that your vinyl roll/piece is wide enough for your project. You probably do this anyway. Also allow for drift on long runs. 4. After you have installed the vinyl and dropped the pinch rollers, advance the vinyl far enough for it to drape over the front edge to the lower alignment guide. Hold the vinyl in place and raise the rollers. Align the vinyl with the alignment guides without letting it slide too far forward or backward. Sliding it side to side is ok because the width setting is the already set for the entire width of the machine. Clamp the rollers and scroll the vinyl back up. You can now set the cutter to start wherever you wish, just don't forget to hold the enter button down for a few seconds to reset the origin before you send the plot, or you will be cutting off of the edge the vinyl. You don't have to reset the machine for each subsequent cut, just reset the origin. Hope this helps.
  13. If anyone still needs a workaround for this issue, let me know. I know how to fix this.
  14. Re: Copam 4050 Plotter. After you move the plotter head out of the way and advance the vinyl for alignment, is there a way to make the plotter head and vinyl automatically return to origin without physically using first one then the other arrow keys. I have read the manual, and unless I missed it, there is no info on this.
