pcut stops cutting

New here and have had a 630 for two months and to be honest I am still figuring it out.  My latest problem is it just stops cutting in the middle of job.  The lcd screen says on line as though it has finished cutting but more than half of the job hasn't been cut. Also on horizontal parts of a job it tends to cut a jagged almost perforated line, I have messed with the blade depth and the pressure tried a lot of settings that I have seen on the board and it hasn't seemed to change anything.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Jagged line is caused by too much blade sticking out of the blade holder and not enough pressure on the cutter itself. I have attached a doc for assistance with this.

When it locks up, is the carriage hitting one of the red kill buttons? Using USB and Vista on a laptop by chance?
