Missing COM ports

Firster timer trying to get going.  We got a Pcut 630 and got everything set up and running, with my notebook computer, on COM 4.  I want to connect it to a desktop instead but in Sign Blazer, under setup, the first five or six lines of the com ports are blank.  The cutter installed and shows up under the hardware profiles and the com settings are good.  Windows XP.

what ports do you have in your device manager?

Looks like everything from 1-40.  Some are taken but 4 is assigned to the USB port for the cutter.  It showed up nicely in BLazer on my notebook but not on the desktop.

On the desktop- is it showing up in the Ports category of your Device Manager? If not, it will not be displayed in SignBlazer either. Might need to load the driver on the desktop.

When I plug in the USB cable, a new USB Serial Port Com 4 or whatever com # I assign.  The top 6 lines in Sign Blazer are blank then it lists USB001.  That one doesn't do it either.

GOT IT.  Uninstalled and re-loaded software.  Must have missed something on original installation.
