LCD screen dims severely

On my PCUT, the LCD screen dims severely a lot of the time, sometimes to the point of being unreadable. No problems besides this, anyone have any ideas?

Where should I start to look for this?

I would check the connection to the motherboard. To get to the motherboard, tip the unit on its side, then loosen the screws for the bottom panel. Wiggle the bottom panel open and the motherboard is attached to the right side of the bottom panel.
