sixpack 0 Posted August 20, 2008 I bought the BGS vinyl and RTape from US Cutter. I'm having a miserable time getting the vinyl to stick to the app tape. Is anyone else using their stuff? I am using a squeegie and pressing as hard as I can, and it makes no difference. Ruining some cool graphics cuz of this. Any recomendations? sixpack 0 Posted August 20, 2008 I don't understand what you mean by recutting it? I am having a hard time getting the application tape to stick good to the vinyl. When I peel the backing off, it stays on the backing and not sticking to the app tape. SynFX 1 Posted August 21, 2008 sounds like it is just you have some bad tape.. try pulling off a couple feet and trying it there in the roll.. may just be a bad couple feet on the roll.... when I said re-cut I meant, maybe you used too high of force and all but bonded the vinyl with the backing.. it happens to me sometimes, its hard to get the vinyl to lift off... unlikely is it the vinyl, it just may have a very tacky glue... try masking tape to see if that works.. if so then you have a app tape problem.. if not then its probably the vinyl.. hard to tell without being there... hope that helps Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

BannerJohn 1,324 Posted August 21, 2008 the first few yards of tape never has much tack,esp if it has been sitting around a bit. I have also used the same tape on two different vinyls and it work great on one,lousy on the other. So I do think the vinyl can matter sometimes. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
sixpack 0 Posted August 22, 2008 Bought some Oracal 651 and it releases like a charm. The BGS seems like a good vinyl, maybe a little more durable than the 651, but is harder than hell to get it to release from the backing. There is no way I could send stickers to a customer and expect them to pick at it and get the graphic to remain quality. Just my observation, and I may be doing something wrong. nbeaton 1 Posted August 30, 2008 I to am having the same problem with the US Cutter app. tape and vinyl. I can get 1 out 5 to stick and then nothing it messes up and peels right on off. I did how ever pull off 5 feet of it and it still does it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
