Anyone using Linux as their main operating system for design and cutting?

Recommended Posts

I have a nice old G4 I could dedicate for shop work but would prefer to use my Linux boxes when possible.

    Thanks for any help

I am tempted to go Linux but not yet. However,I would think that as long as you can find a driver for Linux, and the cutting software runs on Linux, there shouldn't be a problem. Of course, there is always dual-boot.I have a dedicated PC strictly for the US cutter, refine. Running XP but could just as easily set up an old box with 98 on it and use it.

The Refine uses the Roland PC1000 driver, you can always check the roland site and see if they have a linux driver.
