Knobhill 0 Posted June 28, 2008 If you recently purchased a cutter packaged with SignBlazer software and not received your activation code after more than one attempt, be advised the company in the process of being sold and support is no longer available. When or if it will return is unknown. Account for domain blazertech.net has been suspended
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted June 28, 2008 I saw this coming as soon as Jerry Died. He WAS signblazer. I don't know all the details but as far as I know the company already has been sold. IT wouldn't be the first time that a competitor bought out a compnay to close it down. This is of course, speculation. But from what Jerry told me, there were many out there who hated Signblazer. One in particular because they stole his code and he sued them.
CyberSultan 6 Posted June 28, 2008 I guess the glitches in my SBE aren't getting fixed, then. I got my software just before he passed away. Probably why I have never received any responses to tickets. Perhaps USCutter needs to rethink if they want to offer SBE anymore. I know many like it, but if you can't get support for issues or upgrades for the software...

RegisG 0 Posted June 28, 2008 I actually bought mine on Wed (June25th) after discussion with pre-sales. We discussed which cutter S/W as I am going to do all my work in Corel. SB is what the pre-sales guy would get in my situation and that's what I bought. He did say it was up to me though. Maybe this was big supprise to him also..... I "hope" it arrives with software that will WORK! Regis

Knobhill 0 Posted June 28, 2008 I didn't post this to cast any bad shadows on SignBlazer or USCutter. Just posting all the info I know since having activation problems with both copies of the software I own. I'm forced to use my old software until this issue is over with the buy out and things get back to normal. I purchased both my cutters back in March so I never got to know Jerry. Be assured their's plenty of support here so don't be afraid to ask!!! I hope SignBlazer doesn't go away since it's the easiest to setup and use I've seen so far. Their web page is still up and it appears you can still purchase it so I'm confident the new owners won't shut it down.
JH12 0 Posted June 29, 2008 What should we do in the meantime? I just purchased my cutter last week and it arrived yesterday with SignBlazer - ofcourse I can't get it to activate. Will the company still provide support or should I just suck it up and just buy Flexi or another program? Thanks
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted June 29, 2008 Run it in Demo mode...for now. It has all the functions, and as far as I know, has no time limit. Ken and Marcus are working on the problem.

Benr98 40 Posted June 29, 2008 I was afraid this might happen as well. How is this going to effect those that want to upgrade to SB Pro?
Jay2703 704 Posted June 29, 2008 After Jerry's passing it seamed like SignBlazers' presence just dissapeared. I have been wondering the same thing. I like the signBlazer software. I hope it isn't like John predicted, some competitor buy them to close them down. Just from USCutter alone they seem to have a good market. I wonder if USCutter gave any thought to purchasing SignBlazer? Looks like it would be too late now it they haven't already.
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted June 29, 2008 I have pro,and as best I remember...with the dongle version, all you do is install, enter password, and run it. I don't remember having to register. You can install on up to 5 computers too,or maybe even more...as long as you take the dongle from computer to computer.
Guest fivestar Posted June 29, 2008 Does anyone have SBE version 6.05? Look on your cd and it will say the release number. I am needing 6.05 as there is a keygen out for it. If you do I could really use it. I normally don't beleive it using keygens as it is for pirated software and I don't beleive it that, but since the company went MIA and I had to format my system I am wanting to put SBE on and I can't get a damned email for a activation code. US Cutter had better figure out a solution very quickly on this or they are going to have some very very very PO'd customers.
Jay2703 704 Posted June 29, 2008 FiveStar, is it the USCutter version? I downloaded the latest version on my work laptop. I will check it out tomorrow.
Guest fivestar Posted June 29, 2008 I honestly don't know, I found a keygen for version 6.05 I couldn't find one for version 6.0.17 which is what mine is.
tauscnc 0 Posted June 29, 2008 Very sad, I bought mine bundled with my uscutter PCUT machine and was one of the reasons I bought it. But if there is no support, no activation code I don't see a reason to buy when there are many other choices out there. I hope they figure this out fast...seems like it has been quite a few months. P.S. if the program works the same in the demo mode than why would anyone buy it? Just download it and use it??? confused. taus
Knobhill 0 Posted June 29, 2008 I only have the latest versions of SBE. With other programs I've used with a dongle you can install on as many computers as you like but only run it on one machine at a time transferring the dongle. My guess is they took down the download site because SBE works fine in trial mode without activation and the new owners don't like it. I hope they do away with activation and convert everyone to dongles. I imagine USCutter has a contract with them so Support and activation should return.
