Did you make sure the red button over on the far side did not get hit by the carriage or by some other accidental means?

The SC2 does not have a 'red button' on the right side.

The 'limiter switch' (what the 'red button' functionality would be) is located within the top rail; it's an optical sensor that reads the carriage travel. When the carriage reaches the Notch in the rail, it recognizes that point as being at the end.

It's fairly simple to access this by removing both endcaps, then releasing two screws holding onto the top rail and then tilting it back.
