MH871-MK2 Help

Recommended Posts

I just got my MH871-MK2 and trying to get everything setup. Went to make my first cut and it doesnt follow the vector at all. Just squiggly lines. Ive tried blade on vinyl and pen adapter on paper and this is the kind of stuff i get. Was trying to make this as a test and get whats in the pic. Have also tried font and it doesnt seem to want to do anything right. I really hope someone can tell me what is causing this so atleast if i have to call support i can have some kinda idea. Im coming from the cricut world to this and im so lost right now.

You do not mention which cutting software, that you are using. Or which computer operating system.  What exactly are you doing?  How did you set the cutter up in your software? Or download the driver?   Which com port number to you have the cutter/software set on?   How is the cutter connection set up?  Serial or USB connection?   Is this design above a vector image?  It has to be.   You need to do a real TEST first from the TEST button on the vinyl cutter.

Software is vinylmaster. Computer is windows 10. Setup the cutter and drivers like the videos showed. USB connection.

Is this design a vector design?  What does the TEST cut from the cutter look like?   Which com port number are you using?

You have to look in your computer device manager, and find where the driver downloaded to. Then you go to the computer software and match the com port number.  It has to be 1-2-3- or 4. Nothing higher.    Is this picture above created directly from pushing the TEST feature on your cutter?  If so, contact UScutter tech support.

Your welcome.  In case you saw the wrong directions on setting up the blade depth.  You do not use instructions that have to do with using a credit card or post it notes.  They are wrong and we just can't get rid of that myth.  This is the correct way.

To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should barely see and feel the blade out of the blade holder. Regular sign vinyl is only 2-3 mil thick. You only cut with the very tip of the blade.

Hi, glad to hear there is a MB replacement on the way. It should fix this glitch.

Don't toss out that defective circuit board. It contains a thing called a Z-Chip and those are notorious for getting zapped by static and needing replacement. There are no Zchips available in the parts bin at USCUTTER, so the one you have on the MB is worth holding onto, just in case.
