mac fonts

Recommended Posts

Have any of you mac people (or ex mac people) found a way to convert the fonts on a mac to windows?

I looked in the wife's mac font collection and all the names look messed up to me. (Windows guy.) And windows will not recognize what she has. Most show up like ._Lesli for example.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mac TrueType fonts only work on the Mac.

To copy Mac font (.dfont) to Windows and use them in Windows, you have to use a third-party application to convert Mac fonts (.dfont) into Windows TrueType format(.ttf).  DfontSplitter is a free software that is suitable for both 32-bit and 64-bit version of Windows 10.

Similar to what Slice says, I run a font manager that seems to be able to make most of them work. I am mostly going the other way though, using everyday fonts ON my mac's.
