Looking for a PNC-960 specialist

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

My father used to do signs with an old PNC-960. After the business closed because of his death I kept that precious machine like if it was a part of him.

Now my 17 year old son needs to cut some vinyl. What a great way to talk about grandpa to him, it would be a nice grand father, father and son project(in some sort of way) to make this machine work again. That was in August. I bought a laptop with XP, got a USB to Parallel cable and software. But syill nothing

When I plug it in the cutter's fan starts to run faster but I'm not able to do anything with it...

I'm starting to lose my faith :(

Is there a windows XP & PNC-9xx specialist in the room ?

This OP tried to do that. NO go.  Put it on a Tripp-lite Keyspan Adapter  That is the brand name. and a null modem serial cable. She ended up using  Signblazer, cutting software,, as it is listed there as a cutter.

Ditto on the Tripp-Lite Keyspan. It couldn't hurt.

If you were able to buy a puter with XP on it, any chance that it's old enough to have a serial port on it? If so, instead of the keyspan, you can just try and use a null modem cable direct from puter to cutter.

Even if you do go the keyspan route, you'll still need a null modem cable.
