MDesigns 7 Posted November 11, 2020 Newbie here. Just looking for suggestions on how you all apply the transfer tape to a sheet of decals. The roll US cutters suggested does not have any backing its just one huge roll. So Im looking for best practices. I obviously need a holder of the transfer tape roll so I can pull and apply. Im sure there are some creative Ideas here so any help is appreciated!
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted November 11, 2020 Transfer tape is not supposed to have backing. Do a search online for transfer tape applicators. UScutter has them . Look at videos on youtube. https://www.uscutter.com/Transfer-Tape-Applicators
haumana 1,220 Posted November 12, 2020 how large are the sheets you're trying to app tape? I have never used a tape holder. If it have a longer decal, then the app tape gets unrolled, sticky side up, and then I lay the decal on the tape. Actually, that's my preferred method of taping regardless of size of if the app tape is paper or clear.
slice&dice 2,450 Posted November 12, 2020 I built one using 2x4's and a wooden dowel. (The roll of app tape has those plastic cores with a center-hole, keeps the roll steady; without those plastic cores, the roll wobbles) -- held onto table with C-clamps. (the USCUTTER app tape unit is only 24" and I need 30" for my studio)
