haumana 1,220 Posted August 25, 2020 Hmm, this must be a technique that I need to learn. How did you app tape the stars, drop them into place, then remove the app tape? Itʻs done in a total reverse order that I would have done it in. I need to learn this!

It is a blue vinyl cut to shape with the stars cut out showing the colour of the backliner (See the picture wherein Black shadows of the letters are put on). Rest is all overlapped Good work Pal

I rarely have the opportunity to do 3+ color layers, so I don't give it much thought until I actually have to do it
kainth.c.s 53 Posted October 9, 2020 However, there is another option in case you need to do the multiple layers. Wherein the layers are overlapping, you can make the voids or the cutouts in the layers slightly larger than the shapes you need to put on. That way you need a fair bit of attention when overlapping, but the plus point is the overlapping marks will not be visible. (Look at the same picture I quoted earlier, you can see the black vinyl pressed into the star shape and wherein red and blue ends with black overlapping. Again, this method, not recommended as it takes far more time than simply overlapping
haumana 1,220 Posted October 9, 2020 I did do this 4-color graphic, but fortunate for me, nothing was overlapping, except the red, blue and green on white. I don't have too many multi-color with overlapping color(s) requests.
kainth.c.s 53 Posted October 10, 2020 I got to do the projects both ways once. Have a look at the pics. The ones with the Brown Background are the simple vinyl backgrounds with vinyl decals on them and so are the ones saying L & Ps (Learner and Probationary licence plates), however, the one with the rear window of a van was done by cutting the inside of yellow and white vinyl so red and blue letters fit in. There is a little difference in the cut and letter size but it is negligible. Had to go this way as the party didn't want to see any overlapping
