How did you set the blade depth? If too much blade exposed it will do that.  And lift the vinyl up.   Did you put the blade offset at ZERO?   Also what computer operating system are you using that Flexi 8 on?   Is it Flexi 8.0 or a higher version?   8.1, 8.5, 8.6?

My technique is to adjust blade enough sticking out that when drag thumb across it it drags a little on thumb finger..flex 8 pro on 7 professional..and it is set to 0.. Thanks.. I just wouldn't think the arms system would come into play with these 24 inch systems..

But would like input if they are any more uses other than digital print...I was thinking maybe water slide decals...

This is correct way to set your blade depth.  You set it to the vinyl that you are cutting.  It works.

To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should just barely see and feel your blade tip out of the blade holder.

Do searches for uses for contour cutting.  I did not buy my cutter for contour cutting.  Even 15" Graphtecs have contour cutting, as well as Titan 3 series.
