pete8314 3 Posted October 6, 2019 Hi All We're starting to get 2080 from our supplier since the 1080 vinyl is being discontinued. I'm experimenting with the best way to cut it (Graphtec FC8600/60), but I've yet to find the magic settings to make the weeding relatively easy. For the 1080 I was at a Speed of 30, and Force of 23, but for the 2080, this makes some of the corners reluctant to release. Wondering if anyone else has had a chance to play with it yet? MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted October 6, 2019 Start with a new blade. Always start with setting the blade correctly, This is how to set up your blade that works for your vinyl. Specs show that vinyl at 3.5 mil.. Why do you need to cut so fast? Slow the speed down. There are no magic settings. Each cutter will be different, even the same models. These blade depth settings will work for any vinyl. You have to get the blade depth correctly first, then the force. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should just barely see and feel the blade tip out of the blade holder.
