Why won't my image vectorize?

Recommended Posts

I purchased a cut file and import it into VinylMaster Cut.  Sometimes it will vectorize and I can cut it.  Other times it won't vectorize.  It's driving me crazy I can't figure out how to make it work!  Any help please??

it seems like it doesn't work when there is a gray and white checkered background.

This is the image i purchased.  When I import it, it has the checked background.

I tried resaving it to JPEG and that doesn't work either.

I just don't understand why sometimes it works for me and other times it doesn't. Super frustrating!!

even without the gray background, it still adds the checked background and then it wont' vectorize

What format was the cut file?  A cut file should be ready to cut without needing to vector.   It should already be cut ready.   The design looks to be touching the side.

Maybe this will help.

the files i purchased came in .png, .svg and .eps

the only file it will let me import is the .png . it doesnt' show up as ready to cut for me? i have to click vectorize.  maybe i'm just mislabeling what i purchased.

i did read that thread when i searched this forum for a solution before i posted asking for help.  i don't have signblazer that was mentioned.  i have vinylmaster that came with my uscutter and that is all.

thanks for your reply.  i still haven't found a way to cut this file.

all of those formats are vector,  And cut ready.   Did you put the file on wire frame?    Maybe the problem is the file.   Post the file.   Post the .eps file of it.

.png is a raster file - the .eps should IMPORT and be able to be cut without doing anything

the .png shows up with the checkered background because it is a raster image with a transparent background

How do I import it if it doesn't show up in the folder?  That was the first screenshot, of the empty folder.  The files are there in there.  But when I'm in Vinylmaster and i click IMPORT and open the folder it shows it as empty so I was guessing that they weren't supported files.

I purchased from Etsy.  I have purchased other files and it works fine.  That's why I'm so confused as to why sometimes it works for me and other times it doesn't.  It seems like it's that gray check background to me.

You need to go  FILE>IMPORT>Downloads    I was incorrect on the .png file.  It is a raster file.
