denise 0 Posted June 20, 2019 Hi Could you help with my PixMax cutter, it seems the vinyl is slipping. We have the pinch rollers on full force and it still misses on the design (see photo) This doesn't happen with all vinyls we use, just the thinner ones. The second image is from the sign cut and shows the design is ok and the problem is with the cutter. Here's hoping someone can help TIA Denise
MZ SKEETER 4,708 Posted June 20, 2019 I think that PixMax is very similar to the bottom of the barrel cutter MH, that is being sold. The tracking is horrible on them also. It could also be other reasons. You may have the speed too fast. Run at the slowest speed. Could be you have the blade exposed too much out of the blade holder. Set your blade depth correctly like this below. Also make sure that you have the pinch rollers set the same distance from the vinyl edge. Even if you have to use a tape measure to do it. I don't know what your calling thinner material, most any sign vinyl is 2-3 mil which is standard. How to set blade depth To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should just barely see and feel the blade tip out of the vinyl holder.
