Scratchthejeepguy 77 Posted May 4, 2019 I have a job coming up that will go on the side of a racing sailboat. It's a somewhat complex design with a lot of thin pieces on it. All black. Should I go with Oracal 751 or better?
skarekrow 1,842 Posted May 5, 2019 I've had excellent results with Orafol 751 and 951 on Marine installations. They're both Cast Vinyls with the exact same adhesive. The 951 is rated @ 8-10 years and the 751 @ 7 - 8 years, depending upon color and sheen.
Trawler 0 Posted September 27, 2019 Can you print on the 951? If so, will the SG400 work?

If so, will the SG400 work? you CAN print on 951 with a solvent printer but I would look at the proper printable vinyl for marine application along with the right laminate - I priced some once for my printer and a roll of each was around $1750.00 - - - didn't makes sense for us as that is not something we did a lot of. - 2nd part the sg400 is a dye based sublimation ink - for any vinyl printing takes a special vinyl and pretty sure no marine grade available for that - you need to spend about another $15,000 to get into the lower end printer/laminator for that market
