holly.green8714 0 Posted November 27, 2018 one designer has scal4 pro and i upgraded to scal5 pro. is there anyway to get scal4 to open svgs created in scal5? i thought an svg was an svg, regardless of which program it was created in?
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted November 27, 2018 I don't have SCALP but maybe check in your export or save-as options and see if you can save it in an older format. Sometimes you have to import newer format files in a different way such as drag and drop or use the Import command rather than trying to just open it up. darcshadow 1,625 Posted November 27, 2018 SVG is an open format and as a result not every program implements all the protocols exactly the same way. Most usually have an option to save as a "flat" svg file, which from my understanding is the bare basics of an SVG file. It does support some of the "fancier" features that SVG can do. GraphxNMore 282 Posted April 22, 2019 SVGs are SVGs. Either should open the other SVG. .scal5 files can't be opened in 4 though. The $49 is well worth it though.
