Need the cutter to cut exact position of carrier mat

I have a laserpoint I and have been using SCALP4 to do some cutting of cardstock to make stencils. When I send it to the cutter it doesn't cut in the position that the object is placed on the 12x12 mat. Is there a way to have the cutter do that? It starts at the closest point of the object. I understand that this is important with vinyl but not when you are using paper to make a multi-layer stencil. Thanks in advance.

Check you software for a setting. There should be a What You See is What You Get setting that will do as you want.
